Halloween is fast approaching, which means Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and then comes the merriest of all… Christmas! Not trying to get ahead of myself or stress y’all out in any way I assure you, BUT the holidays are the special events during fall + winter where your friends and family gather round together for making memories. That means it’s time to make yourself the hostess with the mostest, all with the gorgeous new home + style arrivals by way of Anthropologie.
5 Holiday Hosting Tips with Anthropologie
And yes, I’m here + more than happy to help: this is where I come in to share my favorite tips for making the most of your shindigs and celebrations with all the inspiration I can offer from my home to yours with five holiday hosting tips for this season.
Don’t be afraid to use your wedding china or your most beloved gold flatware. Every day you’re alive is a reason to celebrate so forget the rules and break out the pretty platters, the crystal goblets for the good wine, and you’ll be proud for a pretty table for all the food + beverage, while hosting those you love most.
That also means it’s totally the time to put away the paper napkins and bring out the real deal. And when it’s all over with, let your significant other do the dishes + the laundry = an act of service equals an act of love in my mind!
Yes… you need to make a list! Include anything and everything [even the small details] and work your way through to make sure you’re not missing anything critical. It’s the ultimate way to create a stress-free holiday.! And don’t be afraid to delegate and/or ask for help!
And yes… plan your menu out with elements that you can cook ahead of time. Whether that be a make ahead casserole for breakfast, an appetizer stored in the fridge prior to the party or a baked good you can freeze and then thaw = this will save you! Working smarter, not harder.
Family traditions are everything to me… for instance, my grandmother’s divinity is a Christmas treat that always makes me excited [and a recipe I am going to master one day I promise]. But having said that, sometimes creating new traditions can be fun as well. It’s hard to live up to my mom’s Thanksgiving dressing and so I will leave that dish up to her.
I do love the idea of incorporating new ideas and inspiration, like going around the table on turkey day telling everyone what one thing you’re most grateful for, or all wearing matching family pajamas for Christmas morning = make it fun and make it memorable. Keep the best and ditch the rest! Here are some holiday-worthy ideas to help inspire you making your holiday your very own…
When it comes to love languages, my number one has to be gift giving… no, not receiving, but the act of giving something special and sentimental to those I treasure most. This season, be sure to store a few extra gifts in a closet and you’ll always have something to share for an unexpected gift exchange! I always try to have a few gift bags + tissue on hand as well as my go-to gifting favorites and pick up an assortment throughout the year for these types of occasions! For instance, buyg a case of wine in bulk and then individually gift bottles when you’re invited over to someone’s house or grab these adorable cookie gift sets and wrap up with cookie mix = easy peasy and totally thoughtful!
It’s the little details that stand out when hosting… seasonal decor scattered througout a space, lighting candles to give your home that good glow and of course the perfect playlist everyone will want to play during their next get together. From the moment they walk in, warm them up with seasonal scents that evoke a subtle feeling. offer a host of food + beverage options that go hand in hand with your event and of course be sure to thank your guest for coming. Southern hospitality at its best this season! And of course, be sure to enjoy yourself during your soiree… celebrate with a job well done with a glass of your favorite drink and repeat.
