The Friday Five… Random Thoughts and Things

Uncategorized

May 17, 2019

It’s been FOREVER since I’ve shared a proper roundup of the random nonsense… and I think it’s time we got back to the basics of sharing the everyday things that make me happy and are occupying my mind, so here goes nothing:

ONE. Teachers Appreciation Gifting

This year, I am keeping it simple and sweet with my end-of-the-year gifting for teachers. I know we hit the teacher lottery this year with both my girls’ teachers so this is extremely bittersweet to be saying farewell to them this summer. I always like to gift teachers a few goodies before school lets out, so this is what I came up for this year: the note says “Soak Up Summer” and inside these bags are Target gift cards, bath bombs and face masks–easy peasy to execute and something I hope they’ll enjoy! P.S. be sure to also remember your bus drivers, front office staff, principals and all those other incredible individuals who bring so much joy to the school year… let them know how much they mean!!

TWO. Caroline’s Gymnastics Recital

Monday night was our sweet Caroline’s MyGym gymnastics recital and it sure didn’t disappoint. Our girl has been working hard all year long and she knocked it out of the park with her routine… she’s nailed so many new stunts and abilities this year in her class and we absolutely love their gym! Their recital theme this year was “Girl Power” and I could not think of a better-suited motto for our girls–raising strong and empowered women and is relishing in their big minds and strong personalities, too. YES YES YES

THREE. Carson’s Birthday Party

How in the world is my baby girl going to be SIX in a matter of weeks??? It seems like yesterday she came into the world two weeks early… oh I should’ve known she’d be a firecracker by her arrival–goodness gracious time flies. She has been VERY adamant about what kind of birthday she wanted… a painting party for all her little friends and artists and I can’t lie, I’m thrilled at the fact that it’ll be away from our house and all the mess won’t matter ;). Third Coast Clay has long been a family favorite activity of ours so it’s the ideal locale for our little lady. And apparently she wants a Barbie Camper, unicorn and rainbow cake and she wants to go to Japanese for her birthday dinner. A girl that knows EXACTLY what she wants. My, where does she get it from???

And of course she knew the perfect invitations to grab from out friends at Minted… these Over the Rainbow invitations are the cutest and were super simple to customize for all the party details! Now let the magical + colorful fun begin.

FOUR. Vineyard Vines at Target

Have y’all seen the sneak peak of the Vineyard Vines x Target collection that drops TOMORROW?? SO so stinking cute… perfect for summertime adventure for the entire family and of course all the mad for plaid and classic preppy style we all know and love from one of our family’s favorite brands. Here’s a few noteworthy details worth mentioning:

  • Product will be available at all Target stores and on Target.com beginning Saturday, May 18
  • Prices range from $2 to $120, with most items under $35
  • Categories include women, girls, boys, men, babies, home, accessories, outdoor and more

I think you’re going to find me at my local store and then I’ll hop online early AM Saturday to see what I can snag from the website selection, too. Fingers crossed the servers hold up and Target’s website doesn’t go down [I’m fairly certain we all remember when the Lilly collection dropped how INSANE it was!!]

Five. A New Bed Fit for the Stonekings

I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets SUPER excited for a new mattress… just shows my age I guess! I posted this to my IG stories the other day and had a TON of you asking about how we decided on this mattress above others, what we think about it, etc. I’ll be doing a full review in a month or so once I can share more information about how we’re adjusting to the new Stearns and Foster, but so far SO GOOD!!

Here’s to a happy weekend ahead… the besties are in town this weekend for their Survivor Fitness on the Row event tomorrow morning [you can still sign up here], then we’ve got two birthday parties on the agenda, and hopefully some time for a bit of R&R with an amazing forecast ahead–cheers to a wonderful weekend for you, too!!
