Five on Friday… Love for Sweet Charlotte

Uncategorized

August 10, 2018

Many of you know that this space of mine is one for all things upbeat, encouraging and extremely positive–but sometimes life takes precedence and the “fluff” needs to go to the backburner. That’s when I am so very thankful this platform exists, even when it’s hard and you have to talk about the things you wish didn’t exist.

You’ve seen me collaborate with my friend April from Smidge of This for years… she and I were co-hosts in our weekly “Five on Friday” linkup, too. She is one of those AMAZING, talented, genuinely kind people that radiate goodness in everything that she shares [personally and professionally] and I cannot tell you how many times I have gone to her for advice, especially when it comes to blogging, parenting and friendships.

Today I’ve got this special little lady on my mind and I want to share her story with you. Just recently, the Robson family was dealt a devastating diagnosis for their 2nd child Charlotte.  This beautiful angel was diagnosed with Leukodystrophy, a rare, incurable and terminal disease. It’s been weighing on my mind heavily since I saw her post last week and I have wanted to not only share, but inform others, in the hopes that we can all band together and help my dear friend in any way possible.

As a parent, nothing is more important in this world than my children and I find myself aching for April and what their future looks like. I don’t want to get into too many details, but I do want to share some info I have gotten from Christina [another Charlotte blogger and mutual friend of ours] on how to help:

  • Donate to their GoFundMe fundraiser to help them with uncovered medical expenses, meals and other needs– as two small business owners, their insurance is costly and reaching this goal would be absolutely INCREDIBLE… this is when I’m grateful social media exists
  • Send a gift from the family’s Amazon wish list (items include general household essentials, baby needs, books, etc) **the directions on how to checkout and get to them is located here)
  • Gift them a Postmates e-gift card (to: robsonfamilyhelp@gmail.com) for a hot meal delivered to their doorstep (a great way for non-locals!)
  • Participate in a fundraiser (visit my friend Christina’s blog page on this for all the details)

**Also, the family has respectfully asked for privacy at this time… as much as we all love and care for April, they’ve mentioned to please refrain from contacting them directly–you may send an email regarding help, prayers, questions and/or messages to robsonfamilyhelp@gmail.com.

More so, they are now going through the process of testing their other two children (Camille and Lochlan) to see if they have the gene as well, so for all of you prayer warriors out there, that is one HUGE prayer they are asking for… Charlotte also had her feeding tube surgery yesterday so continued prayers to them in the hopes it was successful and can help their baby girl get the nourishment she needs.

I hope you’ll take a moment to lift them up whenever you can… I’ll be posting more in the coming weeks about April, but for now, I’ll leave you with this– OXOX.

  1. Kandice says:

So many prayers for sweet Charlotte and her family.

  2. Tammy says:

I gave and will be praying. I trust in Him. Thank you for sharing.
