Spring Break in Rosemary Beach

vacation recap

April 24, 2018

Hey hey hey… it’s been almost a month and I am still reminiscing about our Spring Break Trip to Rosemary Beach…. I’m having a total case of FOMO and thinking “I wish we were still on beach time!”. I know you can all relate and feel my pain, right?!?!?!

BUT… so that I can start looking forward to our next beach vacation this year, it’s time to do a full recap of the happiest (and most family-friendly) beach ever AKA Rosemary Beach, Florida. I had the pleasure of partnering with the town on our most recent trip and I cannot thank them enough for the southern hospitality throughout our stay… it was truly generous and made us feel excited to be able to help share our favorite place with my friends and followers.

First things first… where do we stay?? I get this question all the time so let’s keep things as easy as possible here and leave it to the people who know the town best = the Rosemary Beach Rental Company. They make it super simple to book your accommodations online, check-in upon arrival [with all the necessary codes, times, locations, maps, etc] and then they let you take full advantage of everything the town has to offer, including tennis and fitness facilities, seasonal events during your stay, and the list goes on and on. You can search by date, house location, # of bedrooms, and I assure you you’ll fall in love with your home-away-from-home just like we do each year.

This time, we stayed at Kona Cottage—a quaint home on the southside of 30A, with a 5-minute walk to the beach or the town center which was perfect for my busy and active crew. Here are a few images of the cutest house ever!

Once we got unpacked, we took a little afternoon stroll on our rented bikes, courtesy of Bamboo Bicycle Company. They dropped them off for us [complete with helmets and training wheels] and we were on our way. We grabbed pizza for dinner that night from Southside Slice, the newest quick serve eatery, and then headed to the lawn for an evening concert with the kiddos. It was the perfect end to our travel day and the girls had a ball, twirling and dancing the night away.

The next morning, we headed down to the beach super early so we could be the first ones out and dominate the sand castle game and start our typical seashell search. We rented beach-side chair service just like we always do, which proves to be SUPER convenient and a necessity for us! It was a picture-perfect morning with the four of us… hunting for seashells, taking strolls along the water, and of course building castles and moats and keeping busy with the littles.

That afternoon, we went to Cowgirl Kitchen for an outdoor lunch and then made sure to stop by Gigi’s Fab Kids Shoppe, Bombora Sun and Surf, Stellar, Pish Posh Patchouli and Sugar Shak before getting ready for family pictures… a few of our must-stops when we are on 30A for sure—the cutest kids toys + gifts + apparel and then the sweetest treats in town.

Tuesday night, we met up with our favorite local photographer, Amy Riley, who has taken our pictures for FIVE years now… trust me when I say she will create the best memories for you and your family and it’ll be a keepsake experience you’ll forever treasure. You’ll see the full recap of that photoshoot coming soon, but here are a few to share!

The next day, we hopped on our bikes to head to Amavida Coffee for breakfast before making it another full day at the beach… we walked and talked, dug to our heart’s content in the sand, and of course made new friends, too. That day, we headed to La Crema for tapas and chocolate fondue for lunch = heaven on earth! Their menu is above and beyond of what you expect with beach food and I’m always impressed with how much I love their fresh creations… plus the girls go GAGA over the dessert options [and this gal does, too]. We spent the rest of this picture perfect day down by the seashore, relishing in the sand and taking in some quality time with the kiddos!

That night, we had a babysitter come watch the girls and Jeff and I headed to the newest rooftop restaurant, Pescado, for date night! The seafood salad was SO fresh, and of course we couldn’t say no to a nice bottle of wine and the best views in town… the perfect spot for an adult’s night out and/or girls’ dinner with a group of your besties [as it’s 18+ years only!].

Finally, our last day was spent relaxing at the house and a few strolls on the beach—that morning, we got up and rode bikes to grab donuts and coffee for breakfast and then this mama headed to Vivo Spa and Salon for a massage [oh yes I did!]. This was my third time to visit their spa and I love it more and more each time I go… they are there to get you really relaxed and you can also do beauty treatments and shopping while you’re there, too. Afterwards, I headed back to the house to meet up with my crew… the winds were crazy that day so we were thankful we had packed lots of bubbles to play with, so that afternoon we did a little shopping in the Town Center Shops, stocking up the some necessary souvenirs to take home with us.

Before the rain showers came in that night, we walked to Summer Kitchen Café for dinner while they played a family-friendly movie on the lawn outside. We had the best Pan Seared Grouper and Shrimp and Grits and their OUT OF THIS WORLD desserts—definitely a highlight for this gal who has a major sweet tooth.

Friday came way too soon [as it always does when you’re on vacation], but I couldn’t have been more grateful that the four of us got to do our Spring Break together while the girls were out of school. Such special memories made and we have already booked our next trip to come back for Fall Break this October!

As always, I love helping friends + followers with their trips so if you have any questions regarding Rosemary Beach, you’re always invited to email me at natashamassey@gmail.com so I can tell you all our favorites!

What an amazing trip!!! A little far for us but still a bucket list vacation x

  2. Tash says:

We’ll be in Rosemary this Saturday for a week….it’s our happy place as well. May I ask if you used a babysitting service when you dined at Peacado? My husband and I would like to check it out, but we’re in need of a couple of hours of help. Thanks so much!
