Bring it on February… The Home Renovation Continues!

Uncategorized

February 21, 2018

We are more than half way there friends and I can feel the finish line inching closer and closer… this month has been HUGE in terms of physical changes for the house and I am here to give you a little play-by-play action of the latest and greatest for #thestonekingreno [did you can follow that tag via Instagram to see everything we’ve posted so far?!!?!]:

If you want to read back about how far we’ve come, check out these posts, outlining the starting point through now:

So, first things first… let’s start with the first MAJOR change AKA the exterior of the house getting painted! I’ve been dreaming of this moment for more than four years since we bought our house and it’s even better than I could have imagined…

So that I can go ahead and answer the #1 question/comment, here ya go:

Exterior Brick Color = White Dove by Benjamin Moore

Exterior Accent Color [the color we are using for shutters] = Urbane Bronze by Sherwin Williams

I’m so glad we decided to go classic with these colors. I absolutely love it already and it totally makes our house pop when you drive by. Plus, who doesn’t want a white house, right?!?!

Moving right along, let’s go back inside. All the additional hardwoods have been installed and we are THRILLED that we won’t have anymore carpet in our house… hallelujah!! Bring on the robot vacuum cleaner and then I’m set 😉

We also added new hardwoods on the foyer stairs as we are going to be inserting a new iron banister so the previous ones had to be redone. We haven’t selected the exact stain color yet, but will keep you updated on that detail, too.

We have also moved on to interior paint sampling and the first coats have gone up!! The majority of the house will be painted white, BUT a few select rooms we have decided to go bold [because that’s how we roll–haha]… which will include the downstairs guest bedroom, upstairs guest bedroom AND our master bedroom, which is even giving me all the heart eyes = navy walls + navy trim!! More progress pictures of that to come in March I promise, but I have to keep you guessing a little bit.

FINALLY, we had our first round of design presentations with Kendall earlier this month and yet again, she blew us away with her selections and the entire lineup of custom draperies, fabrics, furniture and accessories… I’m giving you a little bit of a sneak peak, but more to come on this so stay tuned for more updates!!!

Thanks for all the love, well wishes, comments and sweetness on everything home reno related y’all…this has truly been a wild ride and one where I am reminded that it’s a marathon, NOT a sprint, but a big blessing for our family and one that I cannot wait to see complete! The good stuff is still yet to come 😉
