I know… pumpkin spice lattes are out in full force and everyone is already talking about their plans for fall. But before we get ahead of ourselves, I’m sharing 10 pieces you should go ahead and add to the wardrobe now. Yes, these are ones I’ve already pulled the trigger on [or plan to once I find a good sale or promo code to use].
Here in Nashville, we’re dipping down into the mid-50’s at night and the high’s are in the 70’s so I am taking advantage and thinking about autumn essentials to the rescue:
ONE. Simple Pocket Dress | This Hailey Crepe Dress is a must-have for transitional weather and the pricetag won’t make you flinch… just $46 and comes in SEVEN color options so you’re bound to find one [or three] that need to come home with you. I found this style to run a bit small/short in length, so I ordered the Winetasting color in a Small. I’m also crushing on the Fiery Red and Navy hues, too!
TWO. The Supply Jacket | Fall is all about the layers, so make sure you’re all set for cool, crisp temps with a simple supply jacket… I purchased this Madewell Catskills Jacket in the traditional Olive Green color and LOVE it. It’s easy to dress up or down, layers well over jeans, leggings and tshirt dresses and the medium weight makes it a piece that will carry me through the next few months, including some upcoming trips we’ve got on the calendar.
THREE. Black Skinny Jeans | They should already be in your closet, but if they aren’t, shop this style immediately. I recently purchased these Paige Denim Verdugo Ultra Skinny Jeans, a destructed silhouette and I’ve already worn them multiple times. Pair them with a simple tee, a button up blouse, or a colorful sweater and you’ve got the perfect fall ensemble. Plus, these have just been price matched and are 30% off online!
FOUR. The Oversized Sweater | Give me anything warm, cozy and oversized and I’ll be in heaven. I’ve been checking out this Swim Too Deep Pullover Sweater online and I just hit checkout when I saw it was 20% off with code TAKE20 this week at Shopbop. The Ivory was calling my name and I love that it’s a bit slouchy and “unfinished”, yet still feminine and chic. I think this paired with jogger pants and slip-on sneakers sounds like my go-to uniform for workdays!
FIVE. A Proper Plaid Button Up | It’s another one of those staples you MUST own and my collection is rapidly growing as I think you can never have enough, especially when you find one that’s a tiny bit different, like this peplum style Splendid Edgware Plaid Blouse. It’s also 20% off with code TAKE20 at checkout so don’t forget to snag this autumn essential so you can wear it now AND for holiday events and fun!
SIX. A Noteworthy Saddle Bag | I try to save money where I can when it comes to shopping, but every now and then, I splurge on handbags and I’m on the hunt to add a new beauty to my collection ASAP. I’m usually one to branch out and insert a pop of color with my purses so I am stalking a few GREY [AKA neutral] favorites this go around. This Hana Saddle Bag is a winner in that it combines two fabrics and has gold accents so it’s timeless, but updated. AND yet again, it’s 20% off with code TAKE20 through 9/11.
SEVEN. Open Toe Booties | Since we rarely have a true “winter” in the south, it’s fairly easy for us to get by with open toe booties through the majority of the cool months. I just ordered these Lotisha Stud Booties online and I cannot wait until they get delivered… they have detail that makes them stand out and a great wooden heel that’s versatile. The pricetag at $119 won’t break the budget either.
EIGHT. The Everyday Essential Tee | You may have seen my IG post yesterday sharing my new favorite long sleeve tee for fall. A fun peplum silhouette that flatters and comfortable cotton that everyone loves… it runs TTS and is a great steal for just $39 in a ton of autumn-worthy tones.
NINE. A Staple Belted Cardigan | Is it a jacket or a sweater?? You be the judge… but no matter what the verdict is, you NEED this gorgeous layering piece. This Striped Doubleknit Cardigan will serve as a functional item with leggings, joggers and jeans and the contrasting lines add a pop of pattern, which makes it super special.
TEN. Anything and Everything Athleisure | This trend isn’t going anywhere and my work-from-home self isn’t too sad about it. These Live In Slim Flit Leggings are neutral-enough to go with any top or sweater, but the high waist is a win for this gal who loves some fall baked goods [so yes, it holds you in as well… you feel me?!?]
So, tell me… what must-have are you eyeing this season?!?!
