Give It All You Got | My New Fitness Program

workout

July 24, 2017

A brand new week with new goals and a positive mindset… OK, let’s talk FITNESS!! And no, this isn’t going to be painful… actually, it’s going to be fun, enlightening [or I hope so at least], and I’m crossing my fingers it gets you ready to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, just like I have done!

Recently, my blogging besties [Ashlee, Liz, Sara and Veronica] and I talked about wanting to start a fitness-related group on our social channels where we would share our current fitness routines, workout style and what we enjoy wearing, cooking, etc. I know the world of fitness and health can be overwhelming and even I get a bit anxious at times, but I’m here to tell you about a program I started a few weeks ago and has me looking at my daily workouts a lot differently.

Say hello to BBG [AKA Bikini Body Guide] | Sweat With Kayla, a program created by fitness guru Kayla Itsines. It’s all about FAST and efficient 28-minute workouts to help you increase your fitness and strength, while helping you to feel more confident!

I’ve read the manual, done all the investigating, tested out the workouts, and now I use the Program/App I purchased online. It’s just $20 a month, which gives you unlimited access to workouts, recipes, community forums, support, and ebooks to help you achieve your goals, all while keeping you accountable and checking off those daily exercises!

The 12-week program is intense, but attainable and something that even us moms with hectic schedules CAN do… yes, I’ve had to put in some early morning workouts before the sun comes up, but it’s been fairly easy to execute and ANYONE can do something for 28 minutes, right?!?!

My favorite thing is that the workouts are ALWAYS changing… with each week, you complete both HIIT [high intensity interval training] and LISS [low intensity steady state] exercises as well as CARDIO and RECOVERY workouts so you won’t get bored [because yes, that has happened to me before with other programs]. And if you’re feeling extra bold, CHALLENGES are posted weekly to help push you a bit more!

I love that the exercises incorporate items you’ll easily find at your local gym OR ones that are a great investment if you enjoy working out at home, too… including a medicine ball, workout gloves, low profile socksyoga mat, jump rope, water bottle, fitness tracker/watch, and foam roller.

And I’m stepping up my game because we have the Nashville Tough Mudder 5K coming up in less than a month so I want to make sure I am ready to tackle that obstacle course with Jeff and our friends!! They recently released the event map and the descriptions of the events look terrifying but OH SO FUN!!

If you’re interested in learning more, I am HAPPY to answer any and all questions you have for me… just email natashamassey@gmail.com… and just as a little tidbit of extra info, I am not being compensated by BBG/Kayla Itsines to talk about this program, I just love it and think others will, too!

  1. I’ve got to get back into the groove of working g out. This sounds like a good option. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Liz says:

Way to go! I’m doing BBG and I just finished w4 d1 with a little bit more cardio after. I’m using the pdf’s so I don’t have the app. But I’m a little confused everyone says it’s 28mins but it takes me about 40 with stretching too I do each circuit twice.

  3. Steph says:

This sounds so great! HIIT workouts are my favorite.
