RSTheCon | A Total Rewind… Days 1 and 2

Uncategorized

April 26, 2017

Alright, alright… said in my best Matthew McConaughey voice [he’s from Texas, ya’ll so I just had to]. As you may have seen, read and/or followed via my crazy amount of social media posting, this past weekend I went on a fun girls’ trip to the 5th Annual RewardStyle Conference in Dallas.
I’ve had a TON of questions asking for behind the scenes action, what happens at the event, and so on and so forth, so I thought it would be fun to give you a little rundown and play by play of the weekend’s festivities!
OK, I feel like most of you know about it, but for those that don’t, what exactly is RewardStyle? It’s an affiliate networking company, consisting of bloggers and social media influencers that publish shoppable content… AKA we post pretty things, links to items we love, and help make your online shopping experience easy and more enjoyable!  Basically, I get paid to do what I love.
Not wanting to get too mushy on you guys, but this was my first time to get invited to this event and I was giddy with excitement to have the chance to attend, network with other bloggers, meet with a few of my favorite retailers and brands, and expand my learning into all things social media so that I can continue to grow this passion of mine.
Without you, none of this would even be remotely possible, so from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU… it truly means the world and I am forever grateful and cannot thank you enough for allowing me the opportunity to make this a successful side time gig.
OK, back to the nitty gritty, the GOOD STUFF. The conference began on Thursday afternoon and was jam packed from beginning to end… basically, an endless parade of photoshoots, classes and seminars, AMAZING parties put on by some of the top brands in the apparel/accessories/beauty industry, and of course, the best in spring fashion from some of THE top bloggers… myself totally not included since I am such small potatoes in this fashion blogging world. And yes, I might have had some major fan girl moments when I saw some of my favorites in person. They’re basically celebs, right?!?!
I flew out bright and early Thursday morning and got into Dallas around 10AM, when I met up with Liz and we headed straight to Accessory Concierge to pick up some fun swag for the big event! Pretty jewels, accessories, and mimosas to kick-off the fun–need I say more?!?!?!
Afterwards, we Ubered over to the Hotel Crescent Court to check-in and our other girls arrived… that’s AshleeSara, and Veronika = my amazing friends and roomies for the weekend!!!

gorgeous florals everywhere… they truly made this event magical in every way possible!!
the gorgeous landscape… my new favorite hotel in Dallas!
we saw the bicycles and knew immediately we had to integrate them into our pictures!

Once we got into our rooms, unpacked, and had a bit of downtime, we met up with Angie Garcia, a local Dallas photographer, to have pictures taken for all of our various conference looks, ensembles, partners we collaborated with, etc [all of those to come in posts over the coming weeks so stay tuned!]. That took a few hours for all of us to get through multiple outfit changes and such and then we headed to the rooftop pool party hosted by Sole Society! Afterwards, we headed to Javier’s for a late dinner and then called it a night… we were wiped out from a full day of travel, networking and fun.

Sara and I lounging on the adorable chairs… best photo prop!!
great minds think alike… we all were sharing the Anthro love!! Loverly Grey and I were twins in this abstraction maxi dress = SOOOOO cute and comfy, too

Friday morning, we were up at the crack of dawn, grabbed a quick bite to eat for breakfast, and then headed to the Main Stage for the big conference welcome and kick-off… we got to hear from some AMAZING and innovative entrepreneurs, including the founders of Bumble, as well as Baxter Box himself, the CEO and co-founder of RewardStyle. Incredible… I am always interested to see how valuable conferences can be, and I was absolutely floored at the amount of useful and relevant content that was presented over the two day event.
From there, we divided into classroom sessions and individual brand meetings and then reconvened for lunch at Shake Shack, which was hosted by our friends at Banana Republic. And yes, I can tell you us blogging girls LOVE to eat some real food… it was a beautiful day for an uptown picnic!
That evening, we joined the Bumble crowd for a cocktail party adjacent to the conference venue…and then had a fun night out across from our hotel at Moxie’s!!

LOVE these ladies so much!!!
