2016 Christmas Card Planning!

Uncategorized

October 11, 2016

You know I am always thinking about family pictures… whether it’s beach shots during the summer of fall looks for Christmas cards, you can never start too early, because this season seems to fly by at warp speed!!
We had our family pictures taken last night by my good friend and photographer Alli Golden at Harlinsdale Farm and we were so excited… a different venue than the last few years so was a fun change for our cards this go-around.
Of course this mama had been in a shopping whirlwind, trying to plan our outfit looks so we’d all be set for our shoot and this time I’m incorporated red and blue tones as our prominent hue, mixed in with different prints, patterns, and accessories of course so that we coordinated, but didn’t necessarily match!

I chose the Loft Floral Flounce Dress I posted about a few weeks ago paired with my newest shoe obsession, these Free People Walk This Way Clogs. Of course I incorporated a few of my favorite accessories, this Ettika Choker Necklace, Madewell Tassel Cuff Bracelet, and Nakamol Abby Ring, too for some extra flair.
For the girls, as you can assume they were decked out in Sugar Bit! Caroline wore this sweet Red Palm Leaf Print Dress and Carson was looking lovely in this adorable Swan Print Dress
Jeff was all autumn in his favorite J Hilburn shirt in Navy Gingham, paired with dark Hudson Byron Jeans to keep it casual. That boy used to give me a hard time about expensive jeans, but I finally converted him.
And of course, I’ve been perusing the latest and greatest Christmas Card Designs from Minted, doing a little brainstorming of what our holiday card will look like for 2016! Here are a few of my early favs so far:

Excited to see our session proofs in a few days… photoshoots may take a bit more time and patience when all of us are present, but the end result is always worth it and it’s a tradition I absolutely love! Cannot wait to share the final Christmas Card and shots, too!
P.S. Grab a head start and order your cards early with 15% off holiday cards $150+ or 10% off with no minimum. Code: AUTUMN16, exp 10/17

oh wow, girl you're on top of it!! I haven't even started to think of Christmas cards or pics yet, guess I need too.

  2. JaxVollat says:

We took our pictures on Sunday night, but I literally had an outfit change 10 minutes before we left the house. I hope I don't regret it once I see the pictures. Eeek…

  3. Love Minted!! We're not taking our photos for a couple more weeks…can't wait!

  4. Kelly says:

Love it! It's crazy how fast this season has already gone — I purport it's because we didn't get a smidgeon of real fall weather all September so any other year we'd be doing fall things, wearing fall clothes, and making fall food for pretty much an extra month. Now it's near halfway through October and I'm just now making soup and apple pie and wearing a flannel! I'm hoping maybe this will mean a slightly milder winter and maybe really long fall? Wouldn't that be nice?! Can't believe how fast the holidays are upon us! I haven't given a single thought to Christmas shopping!

  5. Brittney says:

I am trying to put together outfits right now and I am having the toughest time. It's hard to be thinking of Christmas, but this time of years goes SO fast. Love the different cards!

  6. Kait says:

I got our Christmas cards in the mail last week! There is something so gratifying about checking it off the list early in the season!
