What Was I Thinking… Volume II

Uncategorized

October 29, 2015

You loved the first installment of What Was I Thinking, so I am back for more… remember, it’s fun to look back and reminisce on things we probably should’ve said no to way back when… and I don’t mind digging in the archives to find some “goodness”.

That fall fashion post where I thought a plaid mini skirt from Old Navy was a must… I must have been rewinding to Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time song days….yikes!

That season when I curled my longer “bob” [AKA lob] and thought it worked for my thick, wavy hair… no, Natasha, just no… another reason why I should never wear my hair short. Another lesson learned the hard way. P.S. I don’t think my husband ages… hahaha

That time I tried those ItWorks wraps…. BAD, JUST BAD. I learned all things in moderation and people that say you can be fit and not workout = doesn’t work for this dessert loving girl. To each their own, but it’s just not for me.

That floral pleated dress I wore for our engagement party… looking back, I should’ve worn something timeless and classic, yet I opted for floral trendy and I know I will regret that one more and more as the years pass by. That silhouette did NOTHING for my body either… whoa. And oh heavens we all look like babies as I scroll through the pictures!!

That Christmas where I thought leopard on a hugely pregnant belly made a good fashion statement and where my dress had a sash with a bow on it… like I was a giant present to open?? Sorry Caroline and Carson, thank gosh I have improved on that now and so has maternity fashion.

Venture back to 2010 when I thought this was gourmet baked mac and cheese… obviously this was before I ever tasted truffle oil and the first ingredient came out of a box… hahahaha.

Check out this one when I was SO excited about our new white couch we had just bought… granted, we were young, in love, and didn’t have kids. Oh I wish I would’ve listened to my mom’s advice about this one… white + couch = no bueno. I think for our next sofa purchase we’ll be leaning towards navy or dark gray 😉

Guilt Pleasures from 2010… the tanning bed! UGH = double gross. I learned that lesson way too late, but I’ll forever be the girl who still loves a good spray tan.

Hope you enjoyed friends 😉

  1. haha this is great! from someone who has followed your blog for a long time, I can say that at the time none of this looked as bad as you're making it sound now-haha!

  2. Christina says:

Simply my opinion, but I really love the curled lob hairstyle you were rocking! I'd do that now with mine if I could get a single hair on my head to curl. 😉

  3. Love these posts, Natasha! They are so relatable and fun:)

  4. Jenna says:

I find some "what was I thinking" moments when I was look back. At the time no one, even me, thought it was terrible. Most of these include my hair. My thick brown hair should never be cut short and dyed blonde. What was I thinking?!?!

  5. I love these posts too. White couches…I really wanted to be the girl who could have white bedding. It didn't go as bad as I thought it would but it isn't out of a magazine. AND as an aside, I saw on IG, I can't wait to read about the opening of Draper Girl!

  6. This is the best post! Gave me some great laughs and made me think back to some terrible moves I have made as well.

  7. Always a good giggle, but I have to admit – I liked the curled bob, your engagement dress looked super cute and you were rocking your Christmas bump clothes.

Tell me more about the ITWorks wraps – I was going to try them?

  8. Your funny this was a good post.. What was more amusing is seeing my comments on them from 5 years ago! How has it been 5 years ago that we've been (and by we I mean you because I haven't in forever) blogging?! Crazy!!

  9. Hahahaha… I love this idea! You've been blogging for a while… thank God I wasn't blogging in 2010 – I shudder to think the stuff I would have to look back on! lolol
