You Know the Drill…Five on Friday Time

Uncategorized

October 24, 2014

One. Friends and Family Time
We are having our Semi Annual Friends and Family Sale over at Sugar Bit this week…for anyone that’s interested, everything is 25% off so it’s a perfect time to start purchasing for holiday gifts and goodies, stocking stuffers (Zubels hand knit dolls are a fav), and to buy your fall/winter ensembles for family pictures coming up, too!

Two. Home Office Progress
It’s coming along, slowly but surely…and I cannot wait to share the finished product. We have ordered the rug, lantern, frames, art prints, and desk lamp as well as the drapery fabric, ottoman fabric, and fabric to reupholster my great-grandmother’s chair so it’s all a work-in-progress with an end in sight. The paint is finally done in the office and I have a feeling it’s going to be my favorite room in the house just because of how bold it is. We went with Sherwin Williams Dovetail for the walls (flat) /trim (semi-gloss) and then Sherwin Williams Mindful Grey for the ceiling, which is two shaded lighter. We chose to do the tone on tone for the walls as well as the wainscoating/trim (per Kendall’s amazing recommendations) and I am so glad we went for it. Definitely makes a statement as you enter the house. Stay tuned for the final reveal coming soon!

Three. Suede Bootie Wedges
In the market for some incredible, comfortable, and cost-conscious booties for fall?? I ordered these a from Nordstrom and they finally arrived the other day! Even better is the price tag at only $49.96 with free shipping. Now I’m just wishing I had stocked up on the other colors before they sold out.

Four. It’s Pumpkin Time
I love pumpkin carving…call me crazy, but it’s a fun tradition to get messy, work on our creativity (or lack thereof) and then show off the finished product to the neighbors once trick-or-treating rolls around. I assure you, ours won’t be submitted to any competition, but I have a feeling the girls are going to love it this year…any reason to listen to spooky tunes, drink apple cider, and spend quality time together is our favorite kind of weekend. P.S. for local friends, Franklin’s Pumpkinfest is this Saturday, too!

Five. Travel Time and Recommendations Please
Blogging friends and readers always seem give the best recommendations and advice when travelling so I’m here begging for some assistance yet again. We are going on a friends birthday ski trip to Colorado in February and are looking for some amazing places to eat while we’re on vacation (yes, you know we love some food). We are specifically looking for places in Beaver Creek and Vail so PLEASE help a girl out!! Thanks so much in advance as always.

And that’s that for my Five on Friday…be sure to linkup below!

  8. I have LOTS of Vail recommendations for places to eat! You can email me for plenty of suggestions, but I would say Sweet Basil is always our favorite. I ate at Kelly Liken last time I was there, but it's very expensive and not sure it makes the top of my list. Terra Bistro is also one of our favorite places to dine…Not sure if ya'll will be with our without children. Those are good spots with no children, but of course there are plenty of family friendly spots too!!

  9. That home office is so perfect. You guys did a fantastic job on it! Every single detail … adore it.

  10. Meredith says:

  13. I'll be creating a home office soon, too! I'll definitely be eyeing yours for inspo! It's adorable already; keep it up!

  14. Sarah says:

ok those shoes are so cute but what do you wear them with? I need help!

  15. Your office looks beautiful! My brother works in Vail and lives in beaver creek and we've visited him a few times. Email me and I'll give you his best recommendations. 🙂
