DG Girls Weekend…2014 Cabin Getaway

Uncategorized

January 21, 2014

We made it back alive and we survived our second annual girls’ weekend getaway trip! To say we had a good time is an understatement, for I think we were all in major agreement that these weekends are absolutely necessary for body, mind, and soul.

me starting out the journey… no i wasn’t driving and yes,
i had wine in a mini box and it was great

We all arrived late Friday evening to Blue Ridge, Georgia, and settled up shop with plenty of hydration to keep us happy throughout the weekend stay. That night, we spent HOURS catching up, doing the girly stuff we love to do, having some plenty of adult beverages, playing Cards Against Humanity (my new favorite game), and somehow managing to stay up until 3AM…yes, I know, who are we???

all dressed up in our nighttime best 😉
the best game ever…watch who you play this with
is it evident we like red wine and champagne??

The next morning, we were treated to a yummy breakfast and spent the day pretty much lounging around in our pajamas. We watched a bit of the UT/UK basketball game, ate snacks and candy and way too much of it, and then all got ready before heading into “town”.

Beautiful ladies I get to call my friends
Such a gorgeous view

Me and my sweet Hurt…baking her first little one due in May!!!
We had dinner at a place called Harvest on Main which was fantastic…the Bistro Steak was perfect, too! Afterwards, we headed back to the cabin for dessert, cocktails, and hot tub time!! Needless to say, we weren’t able to stay up late that night because we are old and can’t hang like we used to, so we called it an early night and headed to catch some much needed beauty rest.

The next morning, we packed it up and hit the road so we could all get home at a reasonable hour and some of us could rescue the daddies who had been on baby duty all weekend. Can’t lie, as much fun as I have with my best friends, I couldn’t wait to get home and snuggle with these cuties all afternoon.

and yes, they are dressed in their Sunday best 😉

Now, we’ve got our thinking caps on for next year’s adventure…we want a fun destination within driving distance from Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville. We’ve thrown out Louisville, Asheville, St. Louis, Atlanta, and a few more, but if you’ve got a great idea, by all means let me know!

  1. Meredith says:

Looks like a great time!!! Love me some red wine!!!

  2. Meghan says:

That's so amazing you still make time to get away with your girlfriends! Good for you! Looks like you had an amazing time!

Looks like the perfect weekend to recharge!

  4. Katie says:

Nothing beats a good (red) wine-filled weekend with your best girls! This looks like such a good time, and so important to keep as a priority! And girl, I have to say, your makeup looks perfect. I believe you've listed your fav products here at different times, but would you ever be up for a little "daily makeup" rundown? Have a great week!

  5. Natasha, Your make-up looks gorgeous in the first picture! What blush are you using? My favorite Estee Lauder blush is no longer available…so I'm shopping around now. Thanks!

  6. You all should definitely hit up Atlanta. So much to do down here 🙂
Looks like y'all had a great time!

  31. It looks like we had very similar weekends full of Cards Against Humanity, good friends, and red wine! You're so right – recharging with good girl friends is the best! Glad you had a great time!

  32. Kim says:

I've been wanting to plan a girls trip like this for awhile; we can never seem to get in a full weekend, only an overnight trip! I'm not sure what the drive time looks like for you, but Greenville, SC is one of our favorite places to go overnight. We stay downtown (Westin Poinsett is our favorite) and there are tons of great restaurants and shopping within walking distance!

  33. What a perfect girls weekend in the mountains!!! I love that y'all made this a tradition! And you look gorgeous, friend!

  34. Hannah says:

I love your pictures! I'm a new Atlanta resident and it is so much fun! You can also find some really cute places to stay here:)

  35. This looks like such a fun weekend!! Girl time (in pajamas no less) is most definitely necessary!

  36. Jodi says:

I agree with the girls-I love your makeup in that first pic! We are doing a girls trip in March and I'll have to check out that game for that weekend:)

  37. Oh my goodness …. this looks like so much fun! Good for you, mama! It is SO necessary to pack your bags a few times a year and get away with some girlfriends [and the more wine, the merrier, right?!]. So glad you had a wonderful weekend with dear friends!

Lastly, PLEASE share your secrets on being skinnier and hotter after having each babe? I MEAN… not fair! Good thing I love you so much! 😉 😉

  38. That is the best game ever!!! I love it. Asheville and Louisville are really fun towns to visit!

  39. Your makeup is ON POINT in that first picture! So gorgeous, and you go girl! You deserve a weekend getaway, especially one filled with wine and champagne!

  40. Kristen says:

Girls weekends are the best and completely necessary every now and then! 🙂

I visited Asheville for the first time this summer and fell in love with it. I highly recommend going! We went to the Biltmore – which I definitely recommend, especially visiting the winery. For dinner we ate at a place downtown called Chestnut which was delicious! It serves local foods and it was such a cute setting.

  41. Love it! My parents have a mountain house in Blue Ridge, I love getting up there for fun weekends! I had a group up there 2 weekends ago and we had lunch at Harvest on Main…absolutely delicious! If y'all ever go back there are a couple great wine shops on Main that offer wine tastings as well…lots of fun! I'm glad y'all enjoyed Blue Ridge, it's a little piece of heaven 🙂

  42. Jess says:

Barnsley? I think you've been there before – but if no one is preggo, there are lots of fun things like horseback riding, skeet shoots, spas, etc….And it's in my back yard 😉

  43. jayme says:

LOUISVILLE!!!!!!!! such an awesome weekend and you look absolutely flawless! how do you do it?! also, when are we going to be able to see your whole new home!?

  44. jamiesmith23 says:

    2015: LOUISVILLE – and I'll drive down to meet y'all!!!!!!!! =))))

  45. Weekends away with the girls are just what momma needs sometimes! I was out last weekend in Nashville at a conference, and while I missed my baby terribly, I came back so refreshed! Glad you had a great time!

  46. Brittany Fry says:

Weekends away with the girls are a total must!!! I love that there are so many of you that make it a point to do this, as I have gotten older all my friends aren't as committed to making the time to be together but I still got about 4-5 that are here no matter what plus new friends. That view from the cabin was absolutely gorgeous!!!!

  47. caycee says:

What a fun weekend!!! And girl I must say you look freaking amazing!!! Gah your hair, you bod, and your beautiful face! xoxo

  48. Jackie says:
