Five on Friday…Link Up Fun!

Uncategorized

August 2, 2013

ONE. The Sweet Spot
My aunt sent me this article the other day and it pulled on my heartstrings to share with yall today… talking all about raising kids, relishing in every moment, and savoring your days: the good AND the bad. You go from “The Blur” to the “Sweet Spot” and then you realize it’s all gone by way too quickly. These really are the best days of our lives.

TWO. My New Birthday Bling
The best part of turning 30 was some of the thoughtful and keepsake items I was gifted…particularly in the jewelry department! Mimi and Pappy knew I wanted something I could wear everyday to remind me of my girls so they got me a personalized gold bar necklace with their names engraved–it’s PERFECT! And my best girlfriends and I decided last year that when we all turned 30, we would buy each other a significant piece of jewelry so they got me a gorgeous rose gold bracelet with a center stone…they know me too well. (FYI: the necklace is from Be Monogrammed and the bracelet is from Bloomingdales)

THREE. Tax Free Shopping
With all the kiddos going back to school this next week, tax free shopping to stock up on the essentials is in full force this weekend in Tennessee. Lucky for me, we can partake in the savings, too! It’s amazing how much money you can save when you’re not having to spend almost 10% more with tax added on (yes, our sales tax is WAY high). I might have to pick up a few “necessities” for my girls.

FOUR. Football is Fast Approaching
You heard it here…the countdown is on and my favorite sport is coming our way SOON! It’s officially 30 days until Football Time in Tennessee so I have been scouting out my favorite stores for all the orange my heart desires. It’s a necessity to stock up early before everything gets picked over. Check out some of my faves:

orange you glad

FIVE. Fun at the Fair
It’s fair season, and they are popping up all over the cities that surround Nashville. First up is the Williamson County Fair this weekend and the Wilson County Fair follows suit in two weeks. I am hoping the weather cooperates so we can take the girls for some yummy food, animal fun, and games galore…who am I kidding? It’s ALL ABOUT THE FOOD!

Another Five on Friday down in the books! Make sure to check out Darci, April, and Christina’s blogs to see what they are up to as well…we hope you’re enjoying this link up as much as we are. To join, simply post away on your site and link up below!

  1. Laura says:

I am SO excited to take the boys to the fair next week! This will be the first year G can actually go on some rides…but yes, I am all about some funnel cakes & fried oreos!

  2. I love your new jewelry!!

  3. {Jessica} says:

Love the sweet birthday presents – so thoughtful!

  4. Kate Cee says:

Love your new necklace! So sweet!

  5. Allison says:

I went to our own fair a few weeks ago, and somehow manages to resist all of the fair food. Now I'm kind of regretting a missed funnel cake opportunity…

  6. That is such a fun idea that you are doing with the girlfriends for the 30th birthdays. Love it! You'll have that bracelet forever and it's so classically pretty!

  7. I've been on the hunt for football season attire too!! Except I'll be wearing orange and blue, and those colors don't get picked over here in South Carolina.. haha! Go SEC! πŸ™‚

  8. Kelly Z says:

Yikes! Your tax rate is high! I'm thankful for NJ have no sales tax on clothes πŸ™‚

  9. That necklace! I love it!

  10. Such sweet birthday gifts! My girlfriends and I did the same thing for our 30 birthdays and it was so much fun! Each of us was surprised with a different piece of T&co jewelry and it was so fun!

  11. Mason's Mama says:

Hi Natasha! Found your adorable blog through the Five on Friday linkup. Glad I did. Thank you for sharing those articles. I look forward to reading them. My Grandparents live in Tennessee and I remember going there as a child and all of the stores were covered in orange football gear. I would always come home with a beanie, t-shirt, sweatheart, had, even gloves and earmuffs!! Our state fair here in Texas started a Summer time amusement park this year where they open up parts of the fairgrounds during the summer months. It’s a great alternative to Six Flags.

    Happy Friday!

    Have a great weekend.

    XO,
    Crystal

  12. Mason's Mama says:

And by sweatheart I meant sweatshirt! ha. Glad it's Friday!

  15. Angie says:

That necklace is gorgeous. I totally want one now!
We visit Gatlinburg all the time and I complain about how high sales tax is there. It's only 6% here in Kentucky. That other 4% really does make a difference.
I love Fairs….We don't have many around here. We do have lots of Festivals in the Fall though and I'm looking forward to those.

    Have a good weekend!

  16. I love the articles you shared! It's so nice reading other moms thoughts. I feel like I ask myself "what was I about to do???" about 10 times a day, 9 times out of 10 in front of the sink. And I just have one. Sheesh! Love the blog. Married to a Denver Broncos fan so that orange will come in handy! Congrats on your newest little lady!
