Caroline’s 1st Birthday…Party Planning Time!!

Uncategorized

February 4, 2013

It’s hard to believe that in a little more than a month, Caroline will be turning a year old…and yes, party planning has officially taken over at our house! I started thinking about a “theme” for her 1st birthday party months and months ago…you know, because normal people do that, right? 😉 People may think I’m crazy for going over-the-top for my Sweet CC’s first birthday, but Jeff and I discussed it and decided we’d go big this year and then tone it down for the few that follow…I hear that’s what a lot of people do these days?
She is a St. Patrick’s Day baby, and of course we thought it would be PERFECT for us to incorporate that into her first shindig in proper form! Given that I’m not all about the kelly green/scary leprechauns/Irish food, we went out-of-the-box a bit and came up with a fun theme of “Lucky Charm” to celebrate our sweet babe.
I started pinning all sorts of fun images to coincide with the color palette I was thinking…mint green, coral/preppy pink, and white. Fresh, pretty, and feminine colors for spring that we can do a lot with in terms of decor, food, and all the party necessities. Here is an inspiration board of what I came up with:

I then sent it off to the fabulous creative minds at Nico and Lala and they went to work. They are SO much fun to work with and they are geniuses when it comes to original birthday ideas and party planning! After a few rounds of drafts and revisions, we finally settled on the final invitation design and they turned out PERFECTLY…I love love love them! Here is a little sneak peak:

Next up, we are working on “party swag”…all the accessories and little details to make the party stand out with favor tags, labels, and banners! I’m stocking up on all the essentials to do some major crafting–oh DIY how I love to hate you–and can’t wait to get my hot glue gun, scissors, paint, and other necessities out to go to town and make our home look festive for CC’s special day! There is so much to tackle on my to-do list before March rolls around that I know it will be here before we know it.
Got any fun party ideas to share for favor ideas? Kid-friendly apps/finger food? Entertainment? Send them my way or feel free to share!!
