did anyone say breakfast? my favorite casserole!

Uncategorized

September 7, 2012

i finally found the perfect breakfast casserole…i’ve been testing out different versions for what seems like ages (and failed a few times i might add) and low and behold, stumbled upon my favorite this past weekend. this is a MUST for any family get together, any group brunch, etc-a sure hit i promise!
**and p.s. giving props where they are due (both picture and recipe from brandi at bran appetit)

Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage
  • 1 package crescent rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp rosemary (i used more)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Place a skillet over medium heat and add sausage. Break up the sausage as it cooks, letting it brown completely
  3. Unroll crescent rolls and spread them out in the bottom of a 9×13 pan, pressing the seams together to make one large sheet of doug
  4. Spread the sausage over the dough
  5. Sprinkle cheese on top of the sausage
  6. In a medium bowl, whisk eggs with the milk, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Pour egg mixture over the top of the casserole
  7. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and the eggs are set
