Explosion of the Wednesday Randomness

Uncategorized

February 22, 2012

My boss gave me the go ahead to start working 2-3 days a week at home these last few weeks…hallelujah! It most certainly pays off to have a manager that has 2 kids of her own—I know I will be able to get so much more accomplished without countless distractions throughout my day and I’ll feel much more prepared handing over my responsibilities while I’m out on maternity leave.

As a lover of Pinterest from it’s early launch, I saw a really fun post on Rambling Renovators the other day—you can see what pictures and such people “repin” from your blog. Apparently, the blogging world likes our master bedroom, wedding details from our big day, and the gender reveal party. See more here: http://pinterest.com/source/hellohappinessblog.com/
**and p.s. to view your own, simply  remove my blog and insert your own… a fun little thing to learn!

I am a celebrator of Lent most years, however for 2012, I am giving myself a reprieve. I think I have “given up” a few things this past year—i.e. sushi, alcohol, deli meat, endless amounts of seafood, unprocessed food, etc—so I will not be participating in my usual routine. Does that make me sound horrible or what?

Photo Challenge:
February 19: Something I Hate to Do—the dishes…however, it’s one of my chores because Jeff just can’t seem to figure out the proper placement of any dish
February 20: Handwriting—my weekly to-do list…

February 21: A Favorite Picture of Myself—last year after a friend’s
wedding…that was a FUN FUN night!!

February 22: Where You Work—well, today I am working from the house, so I am parked on the kitchen island with a plethora of stuff everywhere! I am so ready for our office space to be done!
Happy Hump Day/Ash Wednesday friends…hope you all have a great day!!

I have the exact same picture as my "something I hate to do" I HATE the dishes!! It is my least favorite thing to do!

  2. Leslie says:

I spy powdered donuts 😉 haha

  3. I LOVE your handwriting!!

For lent last year I was preggers too and felt the same as you! On top of the foods you can't eat you also give up sleeping and sitting comfortable!! That is a LOT to give up!

My hubby is the same with the dishwasher, he will do the dishes and I ALWAYS have to reorganize it and I end up getting even MORE in! lol

That is awesome you can work from home! What do you do for work?

  4. Erin says:

Haha- there must just be something about men and dish placement in the dishwasher. I always end up moving stuff around if J loads it first! LOL, and what do you do btw for work? I don't know that I've ever actually caught that! 🙂

  5. Kayln says:

Bahh I am the WORST photo challenge partner EVER! You're 10x busier than me and I still can't seem to find the time, lol.

Ps. How on earth do you not eat that entire bag of donuts in front of your comp? Major self control lady! I would have devoured that in .5 seconds!

  6. For Lent last year, I was breastfeeding. TALK ABOUT A SACRIFICE! So, yea, don't feel bad! 🙂

  7. that's great you get to work from home some now – will be so much better! loving your photo updates!

  8. I share your feelings about Lent this year as well. If you are pregnant you have given up enough! Your handwriting is so nice:).

  9. I tried the Pinterest thing and it was so neat! Thanks for the tip 🙂

  10. Tess says:

I think it's awesome that you are giving up giving up for Lent. I normally try to give something up every year, but I really think it's more powerful to add in something that would make a difference on someone else's….seeing as Caroline is on her way, I think you've got that part covered too!

And YAY for working from home most of the week!

  11. Caroline says:

Thanks for the Pinterest tip. Hope you get all of your tasks done! 🙂

  12. Sarah says:

I was thinking the same thing about Lent! HA!

And awesome for you that your boss is so awesome! 🙂

  13. oh thanks for the pinterest tip!

  14. Oh working from home sounds great! In CA, we can take a month off before the baby comes, but I think working from home sounds like a good compromise! 🙂 OH and I am totally with you on Lent this year!

  15. Glad you're getting to work from home now! And is that powdered sugar donuts I see? 😉

  16. Kristen says:

Do you think men have a universal idea that if they load the dishwasher poorly they can get out of that chore for good?! (I mean I may or may not have done that with mowing so that I don't ever have to do it…). 😉

How nice that your boss is letting you work from home a few days! I was teaching and on my feet all day until two days before C was born, I would have loved to work from home (though that wouldn't have worked very well in my position!)

  17. Olga says:

You have super cute handwriting! BTW do you remember what blush you were wearing in that favorite picture of yours? Looks good!

  18. Thanks for the pinterest tip! SO glad you get to work from home!

  19. Thanks so much for the interest tip! I've always wondered what, if anything, is being pinned off of my blog. I think it's so great that your boss is letting you work from home, I'm sure it makes these final weeks much easier!

  20. Your handwriting is so pretty and I LOVE that picture of you in the shades!

  21. Angie says:

Oh yay, glad your getting to work from home! I'm sure you will find your so productive at home. I know when I worked from home I did.

I had to LOL about the dishes placement. My husband CANNOT load a dishwasher to save his soul. He acts like it's rocket science 🙂

  22. Nicole says:

That pinterest tip was so fun!!

  23. lori says:

i hate doing the dishes, too. sometimes i can talk the hubs into doing them for me… but since i cook a lot, i pretty much have to run the dishwasher every other day. so annoying.

    i love your handwriting.

    very pretty picture of you!
