Up in the Clouds

Uncategorized

January 16, 2012

It’s Monday, and my head is in the clouds…but today is a day where that is totally acceptable because I’m on work holiday. Yes, thank you to the big bosses that give us MLK day off-I’m headed a little north to visit Jenna and her sweet boy Ian! So excited to play with them and catch-up with one of my great frends, since we don’t get to nearly enough.

With so many people talking about the Clarisonic skin care system as of late, I wanted to give something similar a shot just to see if this was something worth investing in-as I can sometimes be cheap savvy when it comes to beauty trends and I’m eerie of what actually works. I spent some time researching online and then bought the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion System. In the past 2 weeks, I have used it about 5 times and can already tell a difference in my skin…it feels softer, firmer, and much more clean than my normal nightly rinse routine. Even better, it’s under $20 and then you buy replacement puffs so very cost friendly, too! Anyways, just wanted to mention this to you as I have been really impressed with just how well this treatment system works, for a fraction of the price of similar items on the market.

Remember last week when I said I was having a difficult time thinking about what to blog about? It’s as though one of my favorite bloggers, Centsational Girl, heard my struggle when she posted “50 Things to Write About When You Have Writer’s Block”…genius I tell you! Read the post here. And yes, I’ll be taking advantage of some of these fantastic ideas soon.

I also had some blogging friends ask me what planner I am using this year so I thought I’d share. As much as I love some of the hot retailers out there {here, here, and here} I just couldn’t bear to spend that much…who is this person I am turning into? 😉
So, instead I found a line Target is carrying, Egg Press by Blue Sky, and bought that instead. If you can’t find it in your local store, you can purchase from Blue Sky’s website as well.
Pros: compact design, tabbed monthly pages, weekly lined pages, clear covers, and it’s $8
Cons: my name isn’t on it, no “custom” design.

That’s all I’ve got for this Monday my lovelies. I know you’re all just dying to hear about the shower, aren’t you? Come back tomorrow for a full recap of just some of the gorgeousness that Little Caroline was showered with…let’s just say the family went a tad bit overboard 😉

  1. WIsh I had read this a few weeks ago. I'm contemplating returning my clarisonic and getting the Neutrogena. It was super expensive and the replacement brushes and cleanser aren't cheap either!

  2. Have a wonderful day off! I use a nutra-sonic knockoff and LOVE it! I swear by it!

  3. Ashley says:

Cute planner! I am for interested looking into the Neutragena. I use the clarisonic and absolutely wouldn't be able to live without it, but the neutragena one seems a little different as in it's a dermabrasion treatment. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Caroline says:

Thanks for the tip on the planners. I just can't justify spending $50 on something like that.

  5. Shari says:

Thanks for the Neutrogena review. Seems much more cost effective. 🙂

  6. Emily says:

Enjoy your day off!!! I hope you have a relaxing sort of day 🙂 I'm a huge fan and avid Clarisonic user…if you ever feel like taking the plunge, it is SO worth it. I don't think (I'm so my mother's daughter right here) that I can put a price on having clear skin…sigh 🙂 Happy Monday! oxo

  7. Oooo I need to check out the Neutrogena system! Love their products so I'm not surprised this works well! And glad it costs a fraction of the price! 🙂

  8. jayme says:

i love that you get questions of the type of planner you use. 😉 the blog world is funny like that because secretly, i've been scouting for the perfect one! i'm weird about my planners.

can't wait to see all of the goodies for sweet little caroline! xo

  9. Tiffany says:

Great find with the Neutrogena cleanser. I was gifted the Clarisonic for my 30th birthday and I just love it. Like you said, I feel like my skin gets cleaner than it ever did before. That's a great find for a fraction of the price! Also, love your planner! I might be making a trip to Target to get myself one! I haven't drank the Erin Condren Kool-Aid yet…I just LOVE her planners but just haven't bit the bullet, so maybe this will save me some $$! Thanks for sharing 🙂 Enjoy your day off!

  10. Have a wonderful day, Natasha!! Hope you and baby girl are doing fantastic. xo

  11. Love your planner! Have a wonderful day today!

  12. I try to use my Clarisonic 2cx a week in addition to regular other stuff, but not sure I notice a diff. Am I the only one?!

  13. Tiffany says:

I love that planner. I love picking a new one. I am with you though I wish I could afford (or they were cheaper) the cute ones with my name and custom design.

  14. Megan says:

I must tell you, your blog is never boring and always on my top read list! Looking forward to seeing pics from the baby shower 🙂

  15. Julia says:

Hey Tat, where do you get the pictures at when you blog? Just wondering. I always google/image for mine but i never have as cute of images and need tips!

    Xoxo
    Julia

  16. Samantha says:

Aren't Mondays just a lovely start to the week when we don't have to be in the office?! Hope you enjoyed your day off! Thanks for the heads up on CG's post about blogging ideas…that will definitely come in handy down the road.
