Tell It Like It Is

January 11, 2012

Thoughts occupying my mind these days…
I’m having a terrible lack of creative ideas for fun posts…any ideas from my loyal blogging friends out there? Based on feedback, I am working on a baby registry post {which could take months at this rate}, a return to Fashionable Friday featuring absolutely nothing related to babies, my favorite blogs/sites, and how to find your “happy place” when it comes to how you look {tips on what I do for workouts/eating/etc}. I am open to any and all suggestions I promise so come one come all!

One of my favorite local happenings returns here in town…it’s our own version of Restaurant Week from January 16-22! Sounds like the perfect excuse for a random date night to me–some of my most favorite places are on here that you must try if you’ve never ventured before–Boundry, Cafe Nonna, Germantown Cafe, and Red Pony just to name a few. We made reservations for Holland House and I am excited to finally try it out.

I’m starting to slow down a bit these days–my planner is booked with all sorts of fun events and happenings, yet I am finding myself having to say “no” because of my tiredness and general lack of energy. Sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day isn’t the best way to deal with lower back pains, leg cramps, and constant potty breaks…a little more than 9 weeks to go, so there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Whoever created Etsy should be given a standing ovation..if I am ever needing to find a hostess gift, baby shower present, random art prints/quotes for frames, jewelry, or any combination of fun items, I know just where to turn! I can’t get enough and my PayPal account knows how much I frequent some of my fav sellers’ shops, too 😉
As much as I loathe Target’s revamped poorly uodated website,  I cannot help but love this new collection of home decor goodies, cleverly entitled “Golden Days”. A few of these goodies just might be taking up residence in Caroline’s nursery.

This past week, I received two very important cards from two of my bestest friends asking me to be bridesmaids in their weddings…can’t say I didn’t get a little emotional at the thought that I get to be there to celebrate their special days, just as they did mine. Not to mention this gives me wonderful excuses to plan parties again-yay Candice and Lauren!!

And because we all need life mottos, I think this is superbly fitting:
  1. I'm loving the new Target line too! The chevron lampshade is my favorite! And that's so exciting that you're in two weddings next year! I have one and I know it will be good motivation to get back in shape and be present for all her festivities! 🙂

  2. I'm having trouble thinking of new and creative posts too! I think we all get to that point as a blogger, where we just don't know what to post about anymore! Sounds like you have some good ideas coming up….I personally love to hear about the baby stuff and what you have planned! Especially after you have Caroline, what are your best baby products!

  3. I get in a blogging rut every so often too, but don't worry, you'll find your way out!

I love the Target line, especially the chevron stripe pillows!

I too have been having trouble with blog posts lately. My issue is too many things to write and not enough time, so instead I go random. I think random works though. 🙂

  6. Laura says:

I love Nashville Restaurant week. Im so glad I stumbled across your blog for this nice reminder! I see a date night in my future 🙂

I am a new follower and love your blog!

Hi Natasha! I'm a new reader and I love, love your blog! I would love a workout/daily eating post…especially your habits when you got to your fighting weight for your wedding. I have been married for a year and am struggling trying to get off the "happy ten" people seem to gain when they get married and struggling to try to figure out things like how many calories to eat, how to incorporate fun wine nights, etc. Would love to know your daily eats!

  8. Those bridesmaid invitations look so cute–you should be honored! Love the quote you ended the post with!

  9. Sounds like you have some wonderful ideas!

I used to live in Indianapolis and they had something similar to restaurant week, they called it devour downtown! I loved it, it made for the perfect excuse to go to a bunch of great places!

  10. Kristin says:

New Target line? What?! I'll have to check it out! And is it really only 9 more weeks?? Where has the time gone?

  11. Jackie says:

What planner are you using for 2012? I love planners and would love to know what you are using! 🙂

  12. That stinks when you hit a blogging wall! I do have to say that I adore Etsy as well and would love to see a post on your top picks from Etsy for various occasions…baby shower, wedding, hostess gift, etc.

  13. Well, at least you're sticking around…I hit a blogging wall and disappeared for months!

Yeah, I have to agree about Etsy. I'm such a fan…

  14. Hi pretty girl, I hear ya loud & clear about the blogger's block — we all get it from time to time. I always love hearing your newlywed tales since you and I were married around the same time!

That very first 25" glass accent table (it's mirrored) on the Target page is my new nightstand. I'm so in love with it. Still looking for a fun knob to switch out on the drawer though.

  15. Kristi says:

that collection at target it fabulous. i may have to pick up a couple things for myself.

  16. I have never been a bridesmaid! I guess, not many of my friends have gotten married, but I always thought that it would be SOO fun! My son's god mother is getting married in March and Michael will be in it, but other than that they opted not to have a wedding party 🙁

I think we all go through those blog funks. It's hard. But you always do a fabulous job! Enjoy the dining week. We did it 2 nights in Memphis and it was so much fun!

  18. I love, love, love your motto for the day 🙂 Such a nice reminder on this Wednesday. I am a new reader to your blog (and a new blogger myself, eek!) and just wanted to tell you how much i love stopping by each day and checking out your posts!! xxo, jill

  19. This happens to me all the time! Sometimes I feel like I have nothing important or interesting to share! I always love reading your post, keep up the good work!

  20. Kristin says:

Target rocks!! Hang in there girl, only a few weeks to go!!
