Fast approaching is the epitomy of southern fashion… otherwise known as the Kentucky Derby. Though I’ve never been to the big event myself, we have our own version in Nashville otherwise known as the Iroquois Steeplechase. It’s the most fun day of the year and always a necessity on my social calendar, however, this year we’re forgeoing the races for other way fun family and friend activities in Knoxville–my cousin’s graduation from UT, my friend Joanna’s wedding, and my last bridal brunch shower. {I know, another jam-packed weekend in May, are you surprised??}

Too bad there will be no sporting of cute springlike dresses this weekend in Nashville. The horrid downpour of rain and thunderstorms has made that a no-go obviously and in with the weather is coming chilly temperatures as well–seriously??? Oh well…tonight it’s relaxing with the Mr. running around town and partaking in a movie rental and cooking dinner, and then hanging out at Arrington tomorrow night for Leslie’s birthday shindig–cannot wait!! Love Steeplechase- one of the best days of the year in Nashville, for sure! We are missing out this year, too, and I am SO bummed. Great dresses, though! BR has some really fun floral dresses right now (and a sale this weekend!). Also- I am dying to try the Anthropologie one on.

I would LOOOVE to go to the Kentucky Derby. I've been to Del Mar in California a few times but I heard it doesn't even compare to the Derby. Cute dress choices, can't wait for spring & summer to rock all the fun dresses I've been finding this season! đ have a great weekend!
It's a dreary day here too! This morning I was supposed to do a service project canoeing on the Rivana River and picking up trash with my sorority, but it was cancelled due to the weather. And tonight we have formal– luckily, it will be held inside, but this weather just puts a damper on things!
