CMA Recap and House Updates

Uncategorized

November 11, 2010

Alright, if any of you are followers of me on Twitter, sorry about last night–I got a little carried away, however I just couldn’t contain myself… makes me so happy to be from this little small town of Nashville and can’t help but show some pride.
Here’s my recap of the 2010 CMAs:
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton racked up the awards {they are SO cute}, Lady Antebellum were on the stage quite a bit which was well deserved, Zac Brown Band took home Best New Artist, Kellie Pickler looked awful poor thing, Brad Paisley inched out the competition to take home the coveted Entertainer of the Year, Carrie Underwood looked {and sounded} incredible, Reba tried to re-do Beyonce which I was not a fan, and I am happy to report that Gwyneth Paltrow most certainly held her own–looks like her hubby isn’t the only one with singing talent in that family!

Gwyneth looking gorgeous
Look at her–it should be illegal to look this gorgeous ALL the time
 P.S. I NEED this dress
Alright, here it is {for those of you who have been patiently waiting}–the kitchen/dining room finally painted with our new furniture… I cannot believe how much it changes the entire dynamic of our house and just how much bigger the space looks–I couldn’t love it any more! Obviously, there is still lots to do–adding backsplash to the kitchen and accessorizing with art and details to make it “homey” and lived in, but the color is the perfect transition for us from the formal living room and it really brightens our space. What do you think??

Yes, mucho wall decor needed pronto!
The view of our kitchen cabinets–backsplash coming soon!
The view from our front door entrance
Color transition from formal living room to dining room/kitchen
Alright, so here is where I need your help… I need ideas on simple, yet classic decor for the walls… what are your favorite stores? Sure I love Z Gallerie, PB {obviously}, Homegoods, Target, etc, but I need to think outside the box here and come up with some fresh ideas–all are welcome please!! Hope you have a great rest of the day!
  1. I agree with it all…Kellie P did look awful and go Braid Paisley, love him!

    Your house is looking wonderful!

  2. Lindsay says:

omg kellie pickler looks AWFUL!!! seriously awful!! oh i wanted to jump in the TV and help the poor girl out lol
i wish i could love as amazing beautiful as carrie underwood too!! 🙂
your house looks lovely. i wish i had a cute house like that, one day 🙂
i like urban home, not sure if they have that in TN. pier 1 might have some things too. or even try etsy…they have some cool items of all different styles. cant wait to see what you come up with 🙂

  3. Laura Brown says:

I love that last dress Carrie is wearing!!

  4. Super cute!! LOVE the color on the walls! SOOO bright and cheery!

  5. the colors are fabulous! i love the transition! i've found great, unique things for my house at vintage stores around town. the hunt is fun and they go well with my PB things too! 😉

  6. MLD says:

I agree with all of your comments on the awards, I just loved Blake and Miranda, they are adorable. And I had such a good feeling that it was going to be Brad Paisley's year! And oh Kellie Pickler, she looked so washed out!

  7. Britt says:

I have gotten a lot of things from Etsy. I love it because a lot of the sellers will customize just about anything. You can also find some amazing pieces at flea markets. Good luck!

  8. Love the new color so much more you than that red!

  9. CMae says:

Kelly Pickler was too pale, hair was like white blonde looked very unnaturual with her skin and the color of her dress is just not her best color….

Who DIDNT love Carrie's pink dress!!?!!?! I sure did!!! I just now got a better look at the dress finally the internet posted pictures that I could actually click and drag this morning there was nothing!

  10. Hailey says:

Poor Kellie Pickler, as much I wanted to love a girl from right beside my city. I just couldn't last night. I think she has had some work done to her face.

I cried every single time Miranda and Blake won. They looked so happy and so happy for each other.

Who doesn't think Carrie Underwood is beyond gorgeous. She actually makes me sick.

Love the new table and kitchen color. Cute things on West Elm, Crate and Barrel and of course Target.

  11. I love the table! Looks great with the new paint color! Indeed very homey..

  12. Two things:

I agree, poor Kellie P didn't look so hot. What happened?

And… I have that SAME dining room table. We have the hutch too, and we LOVE it. I think it is amazing. And, our colors are kind of a similar color on the wall. Love your style.

I have the same questions about where to shop for decor in my house. It's so hard and I always find myself resorting to PB!

  13. melissa says:

The house looks beyond gorgeous! I love your new table! It works perfectly in the space. For wall decor, why don't you try framing fabric? Find some fabric you like (a cool print would be great) and frame it in a matted frame. It's inexpensive and looks great!

  14. I love the new color on the walls!! It's perfect! I'm not sure where you can grab some fabulous wall art. I'm thinking that maybe photos matted and framed in matching frames? I love that look. Good luck!

  15. Laura J says:

Etsy is the best for wall decor, especially great for low prices! LOVE your blog, good luck with all the wedding planning!
