All I Do is Win Win Win…

weekend

November 22, 2010

Alright, that’s 2 SEC wins in a row for the VOLS so that is enough to make this girl happy… one more match-up this weekend against Kentucky and fingers crossed, we’ll actually be bowl eligible if we pull off one final regular season victory–come on Big Orange! In other wins, this past weekend was one HUGE win… too much fun with all our friends, and yes, I am still paying for all our “college-like partying”, but what a fun time for all of us to be together–here’s the play-by-play:
Friday night we celebrated Candice’s 28th birthday with a huge blowout dinner at Taco Mamacita. Even though we had reservations at 8, the place was packed so we were entertained with drinks until we were seated… and yes, we were A-OK with that. We ate, we drank, and we sang happy birthday to the special girl–and I was so excited because my first attempt at making cake balls turned out fabulously!!

After dinner, we all decided to take the party back to our house… between the boys building a huge fire in our backyard to staying up and playing until 3AM {yes you heard me correctly!}, it was a fantastic night and everyone had so much fun! The next morning, we were up and at it early again, cooking breakfast and getting ready to tailgate for the UT/Vandy game. We made our way to campus and joined Candice’s friend Matt at his always fun tailgate and enjoyed a gorgeous day of pre-football festivities.

To watch the actual game, we packed up the fun and headed to Rachel and Ryan’s house, where they had cooked a spread of pre-Thanksgiving treats for everyone.. mini turkey and cranberry sandwiches, fried chicken, and we all brought apps and desserts too–although I don’t know how we were at all hungry since we ate ALL day–hehe. Another late night of debauchery ensued, with us playing our fav drinking game–baseball–and watching football and enjoying each other’s company. Never a dull moment I promise!
Sunday morning, Jeff and I said goodbye to our fav houseguests and then headed to church for our pastor’s last sermon… such an emotional service, but a joyous one and exciting to see what happens next in the life of our church. Once afternoon rolled around, I travelled to my home-away-from-home (AKA Pottery Barn) and got to do a little shopping with some gift cards we had gotten and boy did we rack up!! The rest of our night was spent relaxing and “unwinding”– I took it easy while Jeff made dinner, and then settled in for our favorite shows and called it an early night…such a fun, but exhausting weekend reminding us just how old we are…;)
Now, ready to get through this short week and start celebrating all of our Thanksgiving and family activities… the fun continues soon!! Have a splendid week lovelies!!
