The Writing Was on the Wall

Uncategorized

July 27, 2010

Due to Nashville’s scary thunderstorms and tornado warnings ruining my Monday night ritual of watching The Bachelorette–hey at least it wasn’t the finale–I had a little bit of extra time on my hands. So what do I decide to do you ask?? Clean my house…ummm no, do laundry… absolutely not–rather, I take the time to go through my childhood bins and see what goodies my grandparents had loaded in there.
Since they are in the process of downsizing at their current house because they may be moving at some point, they decided to clean out my room {insert sad face} and make sure I had all my belongings at my house…and yes, for those that are wondering, I did have my own room at my grandparent’s house–my Gran took care of me when I was growing up and after school so I always had a home away from home, too =)
So look at all the funny things I stumbled across:
My 1st Airbrushed TShirt and My Cathy’s Dance Studio Pink Jacket
My Favorite Dresses–Both from Trips to St. Thomas and Hawai’i
{Obviously cute clothes was essential even at an early age–haha}
More Pink and Red–Those Were My Favorite Colors!
My Collection of Purses and Shoes Began Early, Right??
My Black “Slick” Shoes and 1st Walking Shoes
Just a Sampling of Some of My Dance Recital Outfits–WOW
The older I get, the more I love to look back at all my childhood prized possessions and collectables and reminisce… I feel so lucky to have a family with such great memories from vacations galore to lots of fun birthday celebrations to always feeling the most loved. Trolls, Lisa Frank diaries, Cabbage Patch Kids, and Little Mermaid lunchboxes may not be cool now, but I definitely had my fair share of fun =)

  1. Candice Lynn says:

Did they send THE stage too??? If so, can we please play on it? 🙂

  2. Those are precious! I love going to my parents house and looking through the upstairs closet bc while I have all my papery stuff at my house, they still have al the books and toys. So fun!

Wasn't the Bachelor ridiculous last night…Ali's hair?? Seriously? haha!

  3. CMae says:

I feel the same way! They are good to have if you are actually smart enough to hang on to them. My Grandma has a few boxes in her basement that she graciously lets sit there year after year till someday when I own a home and don't have to be a renter on the move so much! I didn't save any baby clothes, merely favorite toys and such from my childhood.

  4. Miss Chelsea says:

Hilarious! I have so many airbrushed tshirts… that one straw bag would actually be pretty cute as a clutch!

  5. Caroline says:

So cute! I love looking back at things from my childhood too! Thanks for sharing!

  6. How fun! I remember all of those toys too, haha!! Are you going to keep all of these things for one of your little ones one day?

  7. I always go through my old stuff whenever I'm at my moms house. I get sad thinking that one day I'll have to move it all out of there. But for now I always go through it too.

Love the little ballet shoes in there!
