Random Nonsense

vacation

January 7, 2010

Tonight is the night– for any of you “southerners” out there like me, we mark off our calendars for all college football bowl games, but tonight is the big daddy of them all… the National Championship between Alabama (No.1) and the wannabe UT- Texas (No.2).
Being the good girl that I am, I WILL be cheering for my fellow SEC team so yes, you’re hearing this right… ROLL TIDE!
As much as I dislike loathe Nick Saban, I am happy to report that yet another SEC team makes the championship game this year and I hope they destroy those awful Longhorns- gross!
On other noteworthy Nashville News, I was catching up on other blogs this morning via Google Reader when I noticed on Eat. Drink. Smile that  next week marks another installment of Nashville Restaurant Week… you can visit the website here! What better way to indulge in a 3-course meal from some of the local eateries for a fraction of the normal price- Yellow Porch Cafe, Germantown Cafe, Cha Chah, Tin Angel, and Rumba are just a few of the restaurants participating for 2010- make your reservations NOW!
Most importantly, Jeff and I are headed to Charleston a week from today!!
With work so jam-packed lately, I need a real vacation and I couldn’t be more excited to visit the coast. Believe it or not, I have never visited Charleston so I couldn’t be happier to get wisked away for a long weekend– anyone know of great things to do while there?? Send your suggestions my way!!
Happy Almost Friday- OXOX
And P.S. no snow yet- our local meteorologists may need to get a part-time job once everyone in and around Nashville goes crazy on them!!

    Roll Tide!
Don't tell mu hubby but I promise to cheer on UT when they make it to the National Championship Game one day!

  4. Oh you will have a BLAST in Charleston! We go one day a year (roadtrip during our week at the beach) and you must eat at 82 Queen. Such good food and you eat outside in a garden. Swoon. 🙂

PS – 82 Queen is at 82 Queen St. Get it? Haha. (843) 723-7591

  5. gCe says:

As much as it pains me as a Vol I will be rooting for Alabama

  6. Caroline says:

I am for the SEC too. You're going to enjoy Charleston so much. How fun?! And you can have this dust that we got. It sucks!

  7. The Holmes says:

Just found your blog through a fellow blogger! Super cute.

On the topic of tonight – I'm a Texas Tech Red Raider, so I will not be cheering for Texas as well!

  8. Amber says:

I just logged on to post my thoughts on tonight's championship and saw your post! ROLL TIDE! Hubby and I love the Tide and all my family is from AL. Gotta keep the championship in the SEC 4 years in a row!!!

  10. I adore Charleston, it has been a tradition for the boyfriend and I to go there for the last few years. Love 🙂 I agree you have to eat at 82 Queen it is amazing! They also have outside heaters so you can eat outside even when it is cold. I also reccomend going on a carrige tour of the city and check out the outdoor market. Hope you have a great time!

  11. Sarah Mina says:

Glad Alabama pulled off the win. Even though I am from Texas, I am a Texas Tech fan and have been waiting all season for Texas to lose!

  12. ohhhh have a fabulous trip!

  13. The Kinards! says:

I live in Charleston, there's so much to do! Of course, you have to do the whole "downtown" thing…carraige ride/market street! There's great night life!! Market Street Saloon is one-of-a-kind! 🙂 Check out the Roof Top bar… so beautiful! Also, I know you'll be on vacay, but check out the new bridge going from downtown to mt. pleasant… you can get your miles in 🙂 ENJOY! Maybe I'll see you out! haha
