{What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve??}

Uncategorized

December 16, 2009

Are you hosting a fabulous party?? Are you and your closest friends going to a downtown dance party? Are you headed to watch the VOLS at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta?

Sadly, this year Jeff and I are taking a relaxed view of my beloved New Year’s Eve festivities, and we will be spending it with my wonderful parents… don’t get me wrong, I am ectstaic to know we’ll be ringing in the year with my other 2 favorite people, but sad that I won’t have a reason to wear one of these fabulous dresses:
Square Sequen Dress via Forever 21 {$29.80}

Frozen Crystals Dress via Anthropologie {$178}
BCBGeneration Shirred Cocktail Halter Dress via Dillards {$128}

With the savings spree that we have embarked on, not to mention that we are traveling to Charleston for a long weekend a mere 2 weeks after ringing in 2010, we thought it best to relax on December 31st, watch the last college football game {well, the only game that matters to me}, and enjoy a nice dinner on the town and sip champagne with the parents!! To be honest, I’m excited I won’t have to worry about where we’re going, calling to reserve cabs to tote us around town, etc.
{BTW: does anyone else out there think it’s always horrible trying to find fun things to do on NYE that don’t involve you spending an arm and a leg, just to be disappointed??}
It’s so crazy to think we’ll be toasting to 2010 in a little more than 2 weeks!! What a wild ride 2009 has been, but I have lots to look forward to next year, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed it will be even better than I expect
Now to plan my resolutions that I never stick to… =)

  1. Marian says:

    It si such a shame that some of these places cost an arm and a leg to attend their New Year's Party. We are in the same boat as you. Thinking the fiance and I may just stay in and host our own party.

    And I'm loving those dresses as well.

  2. Hey Girl! Love the festive dresses:) I know someone already sent it to you but I left you a little "glam marilyn" at my place too! Consider yourself a rockstar!

  3. Blair says:

    I love all of the dresses! Especially the 2nd one!
    No plans yet, there is a gala here that I want to go to but it's so dang expensive…we will see!

  4. Mrs. Wife says:

    Love those dresses! Can't believe the first one is from forever! I think you will have a great time with your parents

  5. Katie says:

    Love the dresses! I really like the Forever 21 dress. Something about sequins gets me every time. Plus you cannot complain about F21's prices!

  6. Jenn Wade says:

    Hey girl – are we getting old or something and have our priorities out of line? I mean, we'd rather take a trip than go out on the town ONE night and spend the same amount of money? 🙂 I think I'm going to stay in too!! Good food, good drink and good company is all you need anyways. Good for you! 🙂

  7. Yes! I completely agree. Big extravagant nights out for new years always seemed overrated to me. I live very close to NYC and trust me on NYE it is more of a hassle than any fun! I much prefer house parties with close friends. Enjoy your holidays 🙂

  8. Amy says:

    I definitely have a better New Years Eve when it's spent quietly with the people I care most about. I never go to parties. Not fun.

    I also can't believe it's already almost 2010. Scary thought!

  9. LawGirl says:

    We'll be spending New Years Eve with law school friends at a house party. Doesn't cost much, rather low key, but lots of fun. I'm not complaining!

  10. they are all super cute!
    I wish I was going to be dressed up! but I will be all bundled up in times square!

  11. i dont know what im doing yet, but i want ot wear sparkles!
