Coupons and Copper Kettle

website

July 1, 2009

OK, so I have begun to notice that a lot of my recent blog posts have been dealing with subject of FOOD — is that a coincidence?? I think not!! Sure, I’ll admit it, I love food, but at the same time,I am trying to educate my blogging friends (in Nashville and beyond) about the fabulous restaurants we have locally so that we don’t have to consistently fill up chain restaurants… I love O’Charley’s and Outback as much as the next person let me assure you, but with the current state of the economy, I’m doing all I can to help out local businesses — they need all the help they can get!

And on another note, for those of you who think I eat out way too much, I have a confession… I am a coupon-aholic! My mom has taught me well in that area, and I have FINALLY got my boyfriend on board for the fun. Background: last year, a guy I work with was selling Nashville Entertainment Books for his daughter as a fundraiser for her school so I bought one. For anyone that lives in Nashville and lights to eat out, entertain themselves at sporting events/museums, or basically have a life outside of work and home — YOU NEED TO BUY ONE OF THESE!! This is the best $20 I have spent in the past year. There are over 200 pages of coupons from Buy 1 Get 1 Free at Qdoba, Marble Slab, Zoe’s Kitchen, La Paz, Otter’s, Whitt’s, Shane’s Rib Shack, Krispy Kreme, Blockbuster, Nashville Shores, Sounds Baseball, to tons of other attractions, stores, etc. I can’t tell you how much money I have saved from this book!
Just last night, Jeff, Christian, and I went to Copper Kettle in Green Hills (a true Nashville landmark restaurant) for dinner because I had a BUY 1 GET 1 FREE Dinner coupon. I had never been there before: so cute and quaint and the food was really tasty, too!! For both of us to eat (I had a chicken salad and Jeff had a sandwich with the best mac & cheese) it was $11… THAT’S IT!! Definitely a place worth checking out in the future and I have been told Sunday Brunch is the best day to try it out…
Happy Almost 4th of July — and Only 16 Days til my Birthday! =)
