Fashionable Friday...White Hot Summer

white hot

Nothing says summer like the sophisticated, classic color of white. Pair it with other colors for a fun pop of bright, or pull a complete white ensemble together to look classicly chic! I love it and can't get enough...dresses, shorts, purses, and especially jewelry! These are some of my favorite pieces!
Do you have a favorite go-to color for summer??

Fashionable Friday...Beachtime Babe

Seriously, is there anything cuter in this world than baby clothes? You all know I've gone way overboard on Caroline's little fashionable frocks and her beach attire is no different...after all, we have to have a fashion show each and every day! I promise to take LOADS of pictures and share them very very soon.
Here is a little snapshot of some of her beachtime essentials we've added to the collection for this summer:

The Ever Important "Packing List"

In response to yesterday's post showing how we're all packed and ready to go, I had a few of you out there asking what exactly is contained in those bags for our upcoming trip to the hospital...rather than a normal fashionable friday post, I thought I would share my packing list and "necessities" of what we'll be bringing with us on our little getaway adventure {yes, I am trying to make hospital stay sound as glamorous as possible} ;)
My Packing List
  • Driver's license, insurance card, birth certificate paperwork, birth plan, checkbook, list of people to call
  • Toiletries
    • Shampoo/Conditioner {hospital brand=no thank you}
    • Toothbrush/paste
    • Face wash
    • Deodorant
    • Brush
    • Headbands/hair ties
    • Moisturizing lotion
    • Makeup
    • Chapstick
    • Hairdryer
    • Pads {bringing "extra" although I hear you should stock up on what the hospital provides as theirs are the best out there=gross!}
  • Clothing
    • Pajamas (2)-I bought the kind that button up to make feeding easier
    • Yoga Pants (2) and tops (2)-I found cute matching outfits at Old Navy which will be perfect for my "going home" outfit
    • Long-sleeve tshirts {if I get cold at night}
    • Bathrobe and nightgown{I don't think hospital blue is necessarily my signature color}
    • Flip flops/Socks {no walking barefoot for this lady}
    • Sports bras/nursing bras/underwear/Spanx {yes, I  am bringing Spanx to the hospital-Mom told me there is no time like the present for that spandex to start working its magic and "helping" my body return to it's pre-baby state}
  • Other Necessities
    • Pillow
    • Focus item for delivery
    • Phone charger
    • Laptop/iPod/chargers
    • Magazines/books/Bible
    • Camera/video camera/chargers
    • Snacks {I was told this is an absolute must as I'll want something ASAP post-delivery...we've got Goldfish, Sour Patch Kids, and cheese/crackers}
    • Water bottle
    • Boppy
    • Nursing pads/lanolin cream {we're waiting to buy a breast pump to see how feeding goes, as I didn't want to spend $250+ on something until we had a "trial period"}
    • Car seat installed in car with infant body support and strap covers
hospital necessities

Of course there is also a list of essentials for Caroline to have on-hand as well:
  • Diaper bag: bibs/burp cloths (2), blankets (2), swaddling blanket, hat, mittens, socks/slippers (2), Wubbanub pacifier
  • Going home outfit
  • Newborn size sleep and plays/gowns
  • Jacques the Peacock
baby necessities for hospital
Lucky for us, we live a mere 5 minutes away from the hospital so if we forget something, we can have a family member or friend stop by and grab it for us...I'm sure there are other things I could be forgetting or will look back and say "I didn't need all of that", but I think we're all set...now if someone would cooperate and play nice we could finally get this show on the road! Happy Friday friends!!

Fashionable Friday...Peaches and Cream

I am all about the gorgeous spring colors popping up everywhere, and I can't seem to get enough of one of my favorite tones...all things peach! It's such a feminine, playful shade-perfect for Easter and fun springtime soirees-here's a fun style board with just a handful of my favorite items.

Fashionable Friday...Weekend Casual

It may be chilly yet again here in the southern states, but that doesn't mean we can't dream of the fun spring weather that is destined to come back soon! I love mixing long sleeve tops with fun colorful shorts...the contrast is so fun! Check out this weekend casual look ;)

Fashionable Friday...Love Sweet Love!

As soon as the aisles of Christmas decor are taken down at retail stores, it's as though anything and everything devoted to the most romantic day of the year pops up...oh yes, Valentine's Day is approaching my dear friends.
I'm thinking our date night this year might consist of takeout and a movie rented at home, complete with popcorn and contraband candy of course.
But, for those of you who will be whisked away by your favorite beau or your group of fabulous single ladies to take on the town, be on the lookout for some of these gorgeous holiday frocks in all shades of pink and red:

Fashionable Friday...Are You Fur Real?

I don't care what people say...fur is always in style--well, faux that is. Come fall and winter, I love anything and everything fur. I love it on celebrities and I love that it's something us real peeps can totally pull off, too. I searched high and low for some fun, fashionable, and still budget friendly fur pieces to add to your closet for these chilly seasons.

Fashionable Friday...Hello Ruffles!

Pumpkin spice latte in hand, dark cherry red on the nails (see my new favorite color by OPI, Chick Flick Cherry) , and scarf around the neck...am I the walking cliche for fall or what?
Even though I might not be able to sport some of the biggest trends this season, i still think any of us can pull off this timeless and very feminine look...anything and everything ruffles! I needed something to do this morning, and can't help but love perusing my favorite sites out for hot finds {with good prices, too}.

Fashionable Friday...Maternity Staples

Let's face it...I've already come to grips that some of this season's trendiest pieces won't be gracing my closet anytime soon {no suede platforms, no tight fitting coats, no form fitting cocktail dresses for parties}, for I must accomodate the ever growing bumpage, though I have to admit, I have been searching high and low for cute maternity fashion that won't break the bank. And yes, Jeff is fully aware that with the holidays and trips coming up, I want to look good, too, so with that comes some major expenditure.  Here are some of my first purchases thus far:
Supersoft Crewneck Top via Gap
Long-Sleeve V Neck Shirts via Motherhood
Shawl Collar Cardigan via Motherhood
Sexy Boot Jeans (bought both demi and full panels) via Gap
Full Length Grey Skirt via Motherhood
Dolman Sleeve T via Gap
Jersey Knit Legging via Motherhood
Long Sleeve Cable Knit Cardigan via Motherhood
I've also got my eyes ready to take a trip to A Pea in the Pod for some other necessities, as well as online shopping at Loft and Old Navy, too! For all you other mommies-to-be and mothers out there, where were your favorite shops for stocking up on maternity pieces? I'm looking for any and all help in this area PLEASE ;)
