Back to School Fun with Gymboree

school

August 2, 2017

It’s inching closer and closer… and depending on the day, you’ll either find the girls and I doing a happy dance OR me whining like a baby when it comes to the fact that it is almost time to head Back to School.

How are we prepping for the new school year? We’re stocking up on all the essentials… school supplies, new backpacks and lunchboxes, and of course NEW CLOTHES! That’s where our friends at Gymboree come in to the save the day. Surely you’re familiar with the happy and cheerful baby and children’s brand… quality clothes that let kids be kids.

This past week, I started asking the girls how they’re feeling about the upcoming school year… Carson is going into Pre-K and Caroline is going to Kindergarten, which is HUGE… it’s a big deal and it’s the time to show everyone who she is and what she can do!

So, we are dreaming big and setting goals!
For me, it’s keeping myself organized as much as possible so that we’re all on the same page when it comes to school assignments, extracurricular activities, social events and all the other fun that going to school brings… which means saying no to hitting the snooze button on my alarm each day and trying to spend more one-on-one time with each of my girls… quality time is so important and it’s going to be my number one focus!
Caroline told me she is excited to learn how to read and I know it’s going to be a long-term goal, but one that we are ready to tackle and I cannot wait to see how she learns and grows this year. As for Carson, she insisted she is ready to go to Mother’s Day Out/Pre-K five days a week AND that she is a big girl and is going to play with ALL her classmates this time around [hehe, we’ll see about that].

So bring on the PTO meetings, room mom sign-ups, father/daughter dances, etc. It’s going to be an amazing experience for Caroline and Carson and I want to be invested in making sure I’m there to help them with these big transitions.

I keep reminding my girls that ANYTHING is possible… just be themselves and know that daddy and I will always be there to support and help them! That’s why I couldn’t wait to select new outfits and ensembles for my little ladies, to get ready for the new school year and look great while doing it with the all new Gymboree Back to School Collection.

Favorites for us include the Uniform Cardigans, Jeans, Activewear, and the Shoes! We love these essentials because they are easy to mix and match, colorful and totally let my girls express their personalities…

Getting my son to school on time. He is in TK this year (between prek and elementary kindergarten!) and getting my kids the school by 8 am is a huge struggle! Ha! In all seriousness though that’s the number one thing and doing extra practice on letters and numbers this year.

  2. Tara Smith says:

Love that little skort and glitter sneakers!

  3. Meredith says:

Love it!! I totally need those shoes for Millie!! I cried last night getting her teacher assignment. I’m going to have a hard time on her half day next week. Millie’s request for school shoes…. pineapple converse high-tops!!! Really? Like where in the world would I find those. haha that kid. I hope Caroline loves kindergarten!! I hope you survive the first day too. Cheers!

  4. Susanne Beckett says:

I actually would love to help my nephew out (as I don’t have kids of my own yet). I’d love to work with him on his letters over the next year, as he’ll be going into pre-school.

No kids of my own yet but I would LOVE to spoil my boyfriend’s littlest sister with a new outfit! She wears a uniform to school now but I’ve always gotten her a new Fall dress every year – she would be thrilled with the navy sparkle unicorn one 🙂

My daughter would absolutely love that Geo pullover and doodle leggings that Carson is wearing! Our goal this year is to continue remembering all of our friends at preschool 🙂
