ONE || Pumpkinfest

If you’re looking for a fun family outing this weekend, be sure to head to downtown Franklin for their annual Pumpkinfest celebration! It’s one of the best fall events, complete with costume contests, bouncy houses, face painting, live entertainment, arts and crafts, and street festival food [my fav], it’s a win for everyone! We will be there bright and early in the morning with the girls all dressed up and looking their most festive in their witch costumes… and best of all, it’s free with plenty of shopping to keep the adults occupied, too.
TWO || Toddlers and Discipline.. I’m Losing This Battle
Mom fail to report here as I am a TOTAL pushover when it comes to discipline. I get so frustrated with myself, as I know continuity is key and I need to be actively reminding myself to “stay strong” and “be firm” when the girls act out. I found this helpful infographic on Pinterest the other day and bookmarked it as a tool to help me stick to it… hoping it can help others out there going through the terrible twos [and threes] as well. P.S. I am HORRIBLE at bribing and caving into the whining… oops. Also, tell me what works for you??? I need all the assistance I can get!

THREE || WINTER WEAR
Chilly temps aren’t too far away and I’m already on the hunt for winter wear to keep me warm… it’s been a bit since I’ve invested in some new outerwear and I’ve got my eyes on a few new options [especially these for under $250 via Andrew Marc], for both everyday and dressy occasions. Some in the staple black and one or two in rich, dark tones that work well for all color combos, too. Loving these pics and the price point on all is VERY budget savvy!

FOUR || Draper James
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, I’m sure you’ve seen Reese Witherspoon’s dreamy new line called Draper James. From clothing, accessories, gifts and more, this native Nashvillian’s flagship store JUST opened in 12th South and I am itching to get there… luckily, I got invited to come to the grand opening next week and I’d be totally lying if I said I wasn’t secretly hoping Reese just MIGHT happen to be there… southern fan girl right here! Preppy looks with classic silhouettes and just the right touches of color and pattern = perfection in my book!

FIVE || Organize the Coat Closet
I’m on an organizational kick right now so if something doesn’t serve a purpose, hasn’t been worn in 2+ years, or is taking up space, it’s going going gone… poor Jeff says I’m a crazy cleanout lady, but it’s true. These images are serving as the perfect inspiration for what I’m looking to do to our foyer coat closet and actually make it a usable space that has function. More baskets + bins and a trip to Target, The Container Store, and Homegoods is in my future!

That’s it for this week’s roundup! Be sure to head over to April and Christina’s blogs to show those amazing women some love AND link-up with us below!!

    Hi Natasha!

    First time commenter but I've been reading for a while 🙂 I also have two girls, ages 3 and 2 so life is busy!! I also work FT and freelance/blog on the side lol.

    I love that infographic!!! I am the same way when it comes to discipline. It is not my strong suit and I almost always cave to whining. I also bribe way more often than I should…but seriously two toddlers is tough!!

    Thanks for sharing this!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  2. kaye is a suuuuuuuper sassy gal…the sassiest. and she can be very difficult. we're talking epic fits. so much so that i'm the exact opposite of you. she was such a tough baby and toddler i had to harden up quick or she would have owned me. i'm constantly adjusting our discipline strategy so i can stay one step ahead, but what's been working as of late is telling her she's going to go straight to bed because, "mommy doesn't deal with whining // fit-throwing // naughty girls // etc." there is a zero tolerance. and girl…it's working. we had the terrible 1's…2 has been a breeze…and i'm hoping 3 is even better. be tough…and love them hard.

  3. AHHH would love to go to the draper james store!! im sure it's gorgeous. xo jillian – cornflake dreams

  4. Oh man, I'm definitely going to have to live vicariously through you going to Draper James!! That will be so much fun!

  5. Ah I need to organize too. I'm in the middle of getting out our winter stuff AND packing to move and everything is a mess. I am so ready to get organized in our new place! Have a great weekend!

  6. Meghan says:

    Oh I'm a big softy and break a lot of those rules… I bribe, give into whining, and often don't follow through. Thank god I have a relatively easy kid!

  7. I looked on Draper James website and saw so many wonderful things. I am a Reese fan and couldn't thank her enough for all her wonderful designs.

  8. Red Strings says:

    I will definitely come check this place again with some other awesome friends of mine! It's one of best places for having a good time with a joyous feeling. And Chicago venues fascinates me with great style and vibrant atmosphere.
