Confession Talk

Uncategorized

June 24, 2015

Everyone enjoys a little confession talk from time to time… a chance to air out your laundry, say things that are on your mind, and speak the truth! Here goes nothing, and try not to judge 😉

1|| I confess that I get really anxious over things I cannot control…and it drives me bonkers and keeps me awake at night. Something I have to learn to remedy, I know.

2|| I confess that I wish my Caroline would sleep in a little bit later in the mornings, though I can’t lie… I gladly give up the extra sleep for quality time with just her and I.

3|| I confess that I am my own worst critic. I set the bar WAY too high for myself in most things and I’m not quite sure what my vision of “success” really looks like. I’m terrified of failure and it scares me so much.

4 || I will gladly confess that I love champagne… like a lot

5 || I confess that people that don’t RSVP drive me insane!!!! It’s REALLY not that difficult to email, text, or actually pick up the phone and say you are or are not coming to an event… and don’t even get me started on the ones who say they are coming, yet always have an excuse for why they aren’t there.

6 || I confess that sometimes I forget to tell Jeff I love him… something I need to remedy and be more adamant about doing because that man loves his words of affirmation!

7 || I confess that being a working mom is hard… and I think working from home is even harder. The temptation to step out of my office and stop working so I can do things with the girls gets too be too much sometimes, so it’s off to the coffee shop I go. Why is it so difficult to find that healthy work/life balance everyone talks about?

8 || I confess that my eating habits lately have been sub-par and it shows… yes I’m working out and doing great in that area, yet I know I will never get the results I want if I am consistently saying yes to carbs, dessert, and my other fav foods [and alcohol]

9 || I confess that I watched Ballers on HBO the other night… the premier of a Miami financial guru who used to play NFL football, starring Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock. And I’m fairly certain I enjoyed it way more than Jeff did…. haha!

10 || I confess that the whole Bruce Jenner/Caitlyn thing is still so strange to me. I’m not saying I agree or disagree with any of it, I just find it odd that it’s been so public and so newsworthy. I’m all for everyone being able to be who they truly “are”, I just feel sympathetic towards his/her children and grandchildren for all the scrutiny they’ve been dealing with.

Anything you’ve been wanting to share and/or confess!??!?!?

  1. Sammie says:

Great post. I can identify with the 'control issues' and totally agree with the Bruce/Caitlyn issue. I feel for him/her?? that it must be confusing & difficult to deal with the issues he/she's had – let's not forget the Kardashian/Jenner wealth has been created using reality shock tactics – so no surprise. During KUWTK Bruce was very quiet and introverted, let's hope he finds a voice as Caitlyn? Thoroughly enjoyed reading your confessions. Sammie http://www.feastingisfun.com

  2. Sarah says:

    Great confessions!!

I also am a work from home mom (two little girls ages 3 and almost 2!) and it is TOUGH. So much so that I am considering getting an office job just so I can work guilt-free (if that makes sense). Working from home is extremely challenging, especially when kids are in the mix. So I'm with you girl on finding healthy boundaries between work/life!

  3. Number one! I so struggle with this!

  4. Sarah Wyland says:

RSVPs! Oh, I could rant about this All. Day. Long. I'm right there with you – if you say "yes," show up!

  5. I confess that SO many of your confessions resonate with me! You are not alone in these but kudos for being brave and sharing where you are today!

  6. Girl, number 5- YES!!!! Why?! Drives me absolutely insane as well! And if this happened for the yellow brick rode party I'm sure they missed a great party!

  7. Christina says:

    1. Why do we get so anxious? We must both be Type A; it's in our genes and I don't know that I can ever change this part of me.
    3. This really resonated with me. I have no idea of what "my vision" is either, but darn it I wish I could find it.
    6. I'm starting to think more men are like this than I realized. My hubs needs to hear those words often too and I admit I really need to pay more attention to this as well. (I thought I was the only one who needed to focus on this task, so I'm glad to read we're in the same boat).
    7. I don't work from home but can only imagine how temptation is looming around every corner! However, I do work five days a week and it.is.tough!! The working mom challenge is real and difficult. There are good days and bad days but overall I just try and tell myself that yes, I am supermom over a glass of wine. 🙂

  8. #10 – I'm with you on this one !!!

  9. Audrey Brace says:

REAL and honest confessions-love it! I just might have to do a confessions post now too. Have a wonderful day!

  10. I love confessions posts! I'm with you 100% on the champagne!

  11. little b says:

Number 10….I am with you. I am open and accepting of Caitlyn Jenner's self-determined identity, but I am so unfamiliar with the issue of transgender identity and am always worried about what to say/think and if I am inadvertently being offensive.

  12. Tess says:

Right there with you on the anxiety, champs, RSVP rant…..and if I go back to work it will be working from home and I can see how hard balancing both would be….

  13. Allie says:

LOVE the confessions – with you all the way on anxiety, RSVPs and champagne! You may have sparked a new post for me. Have a great rest of the day and a wonderful weekend to come!

  14. Meg O. says:

Number 5 – one of my biggest pet peeves ever!!!

  15. Kristy E says:

what do you mean agree or disagree? what would you disagree with? do her private parts belong to you? you have to agree or…well…I won't even say what you are if you disagree with a person's right to be themselves and be whoever you want to be

    • totally never meant to make anyone upset by my remarks… i just know a lot of people feel passionately about it one way or another and i was simply saying i DONT, just felt that it's weird to me their family decided to make it SO public… i am very open minded and believe everyone should be able to be themselves WHOEVER that may be

  16. Megan C says:

Totally with you on 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8!! Especially 5… Makes me sooo mad! I need to be much better telling my husband I love and appreciate him. Not just saying it because we are getting off the phone and such.

  17. A good confessional post is always fun to read! Yes, Yes, Yes to 1, 4, and 5! Xo, Stephanie
