One. Pedicure Time...AT HOME
Pedicures... I love them, but rarely have time to get them, and who enjoys spending that much money on foot care? Not this gal! I workout a lot so I am constantly having to make sure I take care of my feet. Funny enough, I had been looking into this new Micro-Pedi from Emjoi and was surprised to see they were looking for bloggers to test out this new product and talk about their experiences. Let's just say I was really pleased with the end result, so much so that I will share my before and after... and no, I will not be quitting my day job to become a foot model, as I know it's not my best part, but I wanted to be honest with you and show you it REALLY does work. Disclaimer: my feet are feet and they aren't pretty... haha
Best part? It only took about 5 minutes from start to finish and I could visually see and feel a vast improvement in my feet. And the $29.95 price tag won't break the bank either! Hello summertime... and not having to worry about my feet.
Two. Rosemary Beach Sneak Peak
I'm still on cloud nine from our beach vacation from last week... no, I haven't even begun to sort through the 2,000+ pictures I took throughout our adventures, but Pappy was kind enough to send me a few from his camera that he shot of us on the boardwalk next to the house we stayed in. Hard to believe my littles have grown this much since last year's photo shoot, but I can't help but smile at this picture. These three people are my world all wrapped into one and I love them more than they will ever know.
Three. Chinese Coleslaw for Summer Soirees
On Memorial Day, we joined our friends for a cookout at Jocelyn and Nick's house to celebrate all things America, and of course made the traditional hamburgers and hot dogs. I chipped in with my favorite summertime side dish, Chinese Coleslaw, and had a bunch of readers asking for the recipe so here you go!
1 16. oz package coleslaw
1 bunch of green onions (chopped very fine)
1/2 cup almond slivers
1/2 cup sesame seeds
2 packages of crushed ramen noodles (leave seasoning out)
Baking directions: Toast sesame seeds and almonds on a cookie sheet at 250 degrees for 15-20 minutes- Mix together with slaw, green onions, and ramen noodles
Dressing: 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp Accent seasoning, 12 tbsp rice vinegar, 2 tsp salt, 1 cup salad oil, pepper to taste. Slowly add dressing to coleslaw mix- with this you will have more dressing than needed, so make sure you don't add too much and lose the flavor of the salad.
Four. VERB Love
I posted about my new found love of VERB products the other day on Instagram and I had a few of you asking for more details so I thought I would post about these all new summertime essentials on the blog, too! Humidity throws me a major curveball, especially in the warmer months, so I was happy to discover this line of products to help tame the frizz and keep my curls intact. I have sampled the Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, but my favorite of all has been the Curl Cream... it's REALLY REALLY good and light, even on my blonde locks so it doesn't weigh them down or make my color look dingy/dirty. And the price tag of $14 isn't too shabby either!
Five. Summertime Reads
Looking for a new read to accompany on your travels?? I just finished Southern Solstice by Sarah Sadler and LOVED it. Ya'll know I am a lover of girly, easy-to-read fiction and this one was right up my alley... a great main character with a fabulous love triangle and it's set in Charleston [one of my favorite southern destinations]... It's her very first novel and she is a Nashville gal, too!

Happy Friday friends!!! Off to finish work responsibilities and attempting to catch up completely before taking the weekend off to spend with the minis... visiting the zoo, playing at the neighborhood pool, dinner with our small group, and cooking out! These are the things summer is made of ;)

  13. Chinese cole slaw is so good, thank you for reminding me of this yummy treat, it's been too long since I've had some! That Verb curl cream looks like a good find, I feel like even though I have a product that helps with the curls, there is something better out there, maybe this is the one? I'll have to try it and see. :)
