Rosemary Beach Family Vacation...Days 1-2

Monday, June 2, 2014

Given the fact that we took almost 1,000 pictures while on vacation, I thought I would spread the love and devote a few posts to our favorite week of the year...beach week! If you're thinking of taking a beach vacation this year and have yet to choose a destination, seriously consider Rosemary Beach, Florida or any other town up and down Highway 30A...you won't be disappointed! (and no, this isn't a sponsored post, this is me exclaiming my genuine love for the Florida panhandle)
We were lucky enough to snag the same beach house we stayed at last year and were impressed yet again...the location, accommodations, and beach access are key for us and the orange casa never ceases to amaze us...I think we have been spoiled!
Once we arrived, it was time to immediately put our toes in the sand, spend some time unpacking the cars, and then heading to the store to stock up on weekly essentials, before grabbing Angelina's for dinner (a tradition we always have pizza the first night). We then had a few fun cocktails, and called it an early night so we could be in prime time shape for our first full day.
Little Bit and Pappy
Checking out the sand and the beach with Mimi and Pap!
 Me and My Big Girl
  Sunset...This is for You Pappy!
Toes in the Sand!
Sunday morning started out with a fancy breakfast around the dining room table...complete with Lucky Charms and mini pancakes (yes, we go all out, right?) Then it was time to get our hoard of beach supplies together and take the 653 trips back and forth to get it all set up. We spent the entire day at the beach...savoring every bit of our first day of perfect weather (breezy, mid-80s, and sunny the entire week-we were lucky in the weather department!).
Pretty sure my lungs almost collapsed after Pappy and I blew up this pool
Daddy filling up our play pool...a new item we brought this time and
it was great for wrangling the minis
We were a bit nervous about Carson and whether she would like the beach, but I should've known...this baby LOVED the water and the sand...she ate plenty of it and took a few nosedives face first of course. She was like a sea turtle and couldn't get enough! P.S. I'm obsessed with her chunky little legs in a bathing suit
Daddy and CC out in the ocean
Building our first family sand castle!!
Is it nap time yet???
Fun in the Sun! We were so fortunate to have Alex come with us again this year...
so much help so we could enjoy some adult time, too!
Me and my big girl waiting for the waves to splash us!
Nothing sweeter than a baby in a hat...Go Vols!
Jeff's wish of having a beach companion to build with finally came true!
Beach toys taste great Mom!
That afternoon, we headed back to the house to regroup, get baths (because that take another 2.5 hours to get all of us ready), and then we ventured to The Red Bar for our first dinner out! Lucky for us, there was no wait (that never happens) and we were able to enjoy some sunset pictures, too.
Not the best attempt at a family picture, but oh well...we take what we can get!
Pay no attention to the baby trying to jump out of my arms ;)
Carson and Pappy...her favorite perch to sit on!
Heading to see the beach and the sunset
 Cutest parents...love them so much!
My sweet family...our vacation was just what the doctor ordered!!
Stay tuned for more beach fun coming your way this week!!

  19. Awesome! We just got back from St. George Island, Florida (about the same distance from Panama City Beach, just on the other side) and had a blast. We love the panhandle too. Love all the pictures of your little ladies! I can't believe how grown up they both are these days! Great idea to take your parents along for extra help. We may have to do that next year when we go with 2 babies.

  26. FRIEND! I tried to pick a favorite photo.... I really did, but it's impossible. Such happy, smiling faces --- love that your whole crew goes every year! I think we need to invite our parents or my best friend next year!

Ps - can't get over Carson's rolls in her swimsuit! I mean!! Glad you had such a wonderful trip. I swear, next year we need to plan ahead and make sure our trips overlap if possible so we can finally sip a cocktail (or three) on the beach together! And clearly, CC and J need to be introduced! ;) XO.
