Giveaway Time...Comfort Food Made Easy Cookbook and LouAna Coconut Oil

Thursday, March 27, 2014

Alright, alright, alright...by now, ya'll have to know that I'm a big fan of all things southern, and the Southern Living cookbooks are some of my favorites in my growing collection. They never let me down, and tons of them have been added to my "go-to" favorites to make for all sorts of occasions, including weekly dinner nights as well as parties and festive gatherings, too.
Since we're still in winter in late March--by the way, how weird is that??--my cravings for comfort food are still in high gear and I know the minis and Jeff don't mind when I whip out the savory good stuff. The new cookbook, Comfort Food Made Easy, features all kinds of easy and delicious recipes that help to satisfy our need for "down home" cooking...and yes, us Tennesseans definitely say that from time to time. I love that their recipes are simple to follow, are packed with ingredients we normally keep stocked in the pantry, and it's a meal I can cook while I have 2 babes attached to my legs and/or hip.
My favorite dish I've made so far has been the BBQ Brisket (yes, it's husband approved) and I'm making the Chicken Gumbo this weekend.
In addition, I just found out about a new product from LouAna, which is a noted cooking oil here in the south, and they just introduced LouAna 100% Coconut Oil, which is an easy swap for tons of recipes in the book and it's a great substitute when baking as well. I'm all about finding ways to make a dish healthier, while still keeping the flavor intact. Other benefits are that it's vegan, contains beneficial fatty acids, with no cholesterol and zero trans-fats. Winning!! I tested out the Coconut Oil on birthday cupcakes I made a few weeks ago and couldn't tell even a hint of a difference from the "normal" taste. Then I sampled it again when I baked brownies and again no difference.
So, here's your opportunity to win a copy of the brand new release cookbook, as well as a sample of the LouAna Coconut Oil to sample for yourself. All you have to do is enter using the Rafflecopter widget below and that's it...good luck!!
