This Friday, I am taking a break on listing five different things I am thankful for, and rather, I am going to be talking about one in particular..This week, I am thankful for the place we call home.
One. This little cottage has been the center of the life that Jeff and I created together. I can look back to when we bought this house almost four years ago and know how thrilled I was to be purchasing a home with my fiance. We had just gotten engaged and were so excited to finally have a place of our very own. Jeff and I were ready to make this house our home, and it has been the place where we have grown from newlyweds to a family of four.
Two. From wedding planning to decorating nurseries and everything in between, this house has seen a lot. It was the place we came home to once we returned from our honeymoon as husband and wife, and it is where we brought two adorable babies home from the hospital. So many blessings, and so much to be thankful for.
Three. Family dinners, birthday parties, and showers…just a few of the get-togethers we have had at this place. We have gathered around our table to give thanks, to celebrate victories, to ask our friends to be the girls’ godparents, the list goes on and on. I am thankful for the countless meals we have prepared here, and thankful for all the occasions we have enjoyed while calling this house our home.
Four. So many changes and transformations…installing an office nook, built-in cabinets, endless gallons of paint, a new fence, oh how much we have “improved” this quaint little cottage. Leaving something better than you left it…that’s joy, right? I love it when spring rolls around and to see how it changes from season to season…flowers and blooms for warmer months as well as leaves and evergreens during the fall and winter.
Five. I am thankful that a new family will hopefully have the same kind of happiness that we have experienced here. Yes, you heard it right…
I’ve been keeping this a “blogging world” secret for two months now and it’s been eating me alive because I’ve wanted to share this with ya’ll. Well, as of yesterday morning, we are the proud owners of a new home!

Congratulations! I used to live in Sylvan Park so I recognized your house immediately. We too have two little girls and fled the city and moved out to the 'burbs of Brentwood. It's been a great choice! Good luck with all of the packing and juggling! It is certainly worth it!

Congratulations on the new home and on selling your current one! My hubby and I put our house up a couple of months ago, and are hoping to sell it sometime in the near future. We have a 6 month old, and preparing the house for showings is SO difficult with him, so I can only imagine how hard it must have been with 2 littles! Can't wait to see the new place:)

Congratulations!!!!!!!!! This entire post made me cry….it's AMAZING how much has changed in four years (I've been following you for longer!) and how much of a HOME it has been…you truly turned a house into a home. I cannot wait to see your new house and how you make it your own. You're amazing at this; will you come decorate our new house?? Haha!!! Good luck with the moving; we just went through the same showing process which is SO HARD with one baby…I can't even imagine two! You have so much family and friend support, though, that I'm sure you will be blessed with a hundred helping hands.

Congratulations! That is so exciting! It's amazing how much can change over such a short period of time. My fiancΓ© and I just purchased our first home together a few months ago, and I couldn't help but thinking of our future while reading about all the wonderful blessings that have happened in your home over the years.

Congrats on the purchase of a new home and selling yours so quickly! I have an odd question for you…your current house looks like is similar style to ours (cape cod) and it looks like maybe you have your girls' bedrooms on different floors? How does that work for you? Our house has one bedroom upstairs and two on the main the level. Once we start a family, I'm just wondering how that would work, having the kids on different floors, or us on a different floor than our kids. Any tips?
Congratulations!! We sold our house last year 4 days before Xmas and moved into our new one at the end of January, definitely a busy year end and our baby wasn't even fully mobile yet! Wish you lots of luck packing and getting all the odds and ends together!
