Five on Friday…Holla!

Uncategorized

August 23, 2013

One. Washi Tape
I know there have to be others out there who love some washi tape…I’m proudly one of them. It’s sticky, patterned tape you can use to dress up practically anything your happy heart desires. I found some AMAZING ideas via Pinterest and wanted to share. Even better, you can always find this stuff on Etsy and other sites for the low low price so it’s a fun little purchase to add some “flair”.

TWO. Honey Lime Chicken Enchiladas
I posted about these previously, but they are well worth mentioning again I promise. It’s one of the easiest dinners from our repertoire, and my husband asks for them all the time because they are his favorite…these also make a great entree to take to friends who just had a baby, etc. A crowd pleaser for everyone, even my picky Miss Caroline.

THREE. Pedal Tavern Party
Tonight, us adults are getting wild and outta control and celebrating our friend Megan’s 30th birthday with a night around town in the infamous Nashville Pedal Tavern. I have been wanting to do this tour for so long, and cannot wait! It’s basically a large group bicycle that holds 16 people and you pedal around different bars and do a pub crawl…it’s going to be FUN!

FOUR. Guest Posting at The Southern Sophisticate
Totally meant to mention this yesterday, but time slipped away from me (funny how that always seems to happen) and I wanted to say a big thank you to Cambron at The Southern Sophisticate for letting me participate in her series on all things southern/lady lessons. I offered my two cents about etiquette, wardobe essentials, and then completed her Q&A for my southern preferences. Check out the post here!

FIVE. Fall Fun on the Nail Scene
Rarely do I find the time to paint my nails anymore, or venture to the salon for a mani/pedi session. Let’s face it…other things take priority, BUT for some reason, when fall rolls around, I can’t help but stock up on pretty new nail polish and start painting away again. Maybe it’s because we all lose our summertime tans so we need a little color to brighten up our mood. Check out some of my go-to favorite shades…

Another week on Five on Friday down in the books my dears…be sure to visit my gal pal posts from Darci, Christina, and April and link-up below to join our party of fun! Cheers to the weekend.

Friday, 8/23:

  1. Thank you for the washi tape shout out!!! I need to do this for my daughter's birthday party on the straws! I was wanting to add some pink to the drink section and couldn't decide what to do!! I will DEF be adding washi tape to the straws for a festive little flair!!! Thanks, Natasha!!! 🙂

    Happy Weekend!!!

  2. That washi tape I Italy is SO cute. I have some cardboard initials and have been thinking about something fun I could do with them, I think I found it! Have fun tonight – it sounds like a blast 🙂

  3. Love the washi tape ideas! So fun and an easy way to add cute details. Also, those nail polish colors are perfect for Fall. Thanks for sharing – great inspiration!

  4. Jessica says:

  5. Oh yes! I love wasahi tape! Best invention ever! Happy Friday!!

  6. little b says:

How do you steer the Pedal Tavern? I'm so intrigued.

  7. I'm so late to the washi tape party! I just started buying some last month and it is SO fun! I bought a gold polka dot one at Paper Source that I love! You are going to have such a fun time on that bike / bus / bar thing! Will your legs be sore the next day?

  8. I am SO jealous about the pedal party y'all have tonight. We have that in Charlotte and it's always so funny to see them drive down the street. Have SO much fun!!

  9. Caitlin says:

That pedal party sounds awesome!!! I wish we had something like that! Have a blast!! 🙂

  10. Tess says:

  12. Whitney says:

The pedal party looks so fun! We see it when we are out in Downtown Nashville, but we didn't really know how it worked. Like could you just hop on for a bit? But glad you posted the link…now I know! 🙂 Will have to keep this up my sleeve for future bachelorette/birthday parties! Have fun!

  13. kristin says:

  14. Amy Mccarthy says:

Great post on etiquette! I need advice- do you send a thank you note to a hostess when you go to someone's house for a get together, or just when you have received a gift?

  15. Those chicken enchiladas look so yummy! I have seen the pedal taverns before but haven't been on one! They look like so much fun, and sure will add to her 30th celebration memories.

  16. Shadia Brown says:

Looove the washi tape! I'm a big fan of it, now you showed me what else I can do with it! Those enchiladas look delish!

And I'm a new follower of yours, lovin' this blog!

  19. I've been wanting to do one of those pedal parties for a LONG time, so you have to tell me alllll about it! So excited for you!

  20. I haven't tried using washi tape yet. I love all the fun patterns! I never have time to paint my nails either, and lets face it, a manicure never lasts long anyway! But I agree, when Fall rolls around I always want to paint them. I love all the ones you picked out.

  21. Taylor B. says:

Love the enchiladas. I made a key lime chicken dish the other night that was equally as simple to make and delicious. Let me know if you want the recipe!

  22. Lauren says:

Love all of your examples on ways to use washi tape! Washi tape can just add a little something special and it is so much fun!
