Caroline's Boudoir...The Nursery Reveal

So here it is friends! Caroline’s nursery, finally…I had a few sneak peaks along the way, but I couldn’t leave you hanging any longer.
It’s crazy how much this room has been transformed. From what was going to be my “home office” to a sweet abode for our little peanut, I am ecstatic at the finished product and know that loads of joy went into each and every detail. What was supposed to be a fairly gender neutral space quickly changed into a world of pink, and I am so happy we decided to go all out.

The Crib, Bedding, and Dresser/Changing Table
Since we had bead board added to the walls, I ventured away from a white crib, so lucky me when I stumbled upon this. To contrast with the French Grey finish, I ordered bedding that had a clean palette of antique white/linen with pops of pastel pink. I absolutely love it!
P.S. For those of you scared over the bumper, we’re keeping it in for now {because she’ll be sleeping in a bassinet in our room when she first comes home}. Then once she moves to her nursery, the bumper will come off)
With a small room, we needed to make the most of our space, and we knew having a dresser that served a dual-purpose was a perfect solution! The dresser offers so much storage room for her necessities and then we ordered a topper for easy diapering. Even better, the topper is removable so once she is potty-trained, Caroline will have a fully functional {and still gorgeous} dresser.

The Nightstand/Lamp/Chair/Rug/Curtains
I wanted a fun accent piece for the nightstand, something that added a different color...I love the crystal glass knobs and subtle lines to give it that “vintage” look. For the table lamp, I went feminine and girly. The base is a rubbed gold/silver matte finish and the shade is a flax/linen with appliqué flowers. And, the chair…sure, there were less expensive options, but the ease of having a slipcover rather than upholstery won me over. We can throw the cover in the laundry and have a clean, almost-like-new chair in no time!
As for the rug, this was a necessity since we have hardwood floors…little bit needs some form of traction! I love the pale pink/antique white pattern—it’s comfy, too! And finally the curtains, these lovelies turned out to be the perfect shade. We paired them with thick brushed silver hardware with crystal glass finials and clips, and I think this has to be my favorite spot in the nursery.

Brushed Nickel Window Hardware: JCPenney
Peony with Square Vase: Target
·         Coral Hobnail Glass Candle: Lulu
·         Polka Dot Frame with Pink Bow: Baby Shower Gift

The Walls
I searched far and wide to find different accent pieces for the walls, as I wanted an eclectic mix. Over the changing table is the reclaimed wood print I had been eyeing for a LONG time. It’s the song my Mom always used to sing to me when I was little so it has that sentimental factor, too. For the gallery wall, I wanted to switch it up with framed quotes, pictures, and other odds and ends…accents we hope to add to as she gets older! There is the wall ledge with other frames as well as the wire card holder for storing sweet cards from loved ones.

The Bookcase/Side Nook
We had our contractor build a small bookcase in the "nook", as it was an odd space. I wanted it to be simple and short, and offer a way to display her keepsakes, special mementos from family and friends, books we’ll read to her, etc.
·         Antique White/Pink Piggy Bank: Homegoods
·         Pink Heart Vase: Target
·         Swarovski Crystal Ring: Wedding Gift
·         Vase, Eggs, and Hydrangea: Homegoods
·         Various Stuffed Animals: Baby Shower Gifts
·         Pink Jewelry Stand: Target (with her adorable baby pearl bracelet and silver monogrammed locket)
·         BronzeBunny Bookends: RH Baby and Child

The Closet
Oh the closet, well, I take it back, maybe this is my favorite part of the room. We had custom built-ins added to house all of Caroline's essentials and the organization is perfect for my Type-A self. I'm hoping this will help Jeff learn where everything is, too! I wanted everything to have a proper place which is why we invested in some great canvas bins and totes. All her outfits are categorized by size...foolproof, even for Daddy. And yes, I know we have gone way over on the clothing situation-I make no apologies, though, because baby girl frills and dresses are just too cute to pass up.
Canvas Bins: Target and The Container Store

So there you have it!! I hope you all like it as much as we do...Jeff has been catching me in there practically every night, reading "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and just rocking away, trying to pass the time-I'm officially ready for someone to come!

I love it! So pretty and well-done. The details are AMAZING. I am so bad with little personal touches. I worry my "details" will look like tacky "knick-knacks" but your details are so tasteful and appropriate for a baby girls room. Congrats! You must be so pleased with the final product!
