On Your Marks, Get Set, Go!

The mega of all shopping adventures--also known as Black Friday--is only 3 weeks away ladies and gentlemen… can you believe it? Time flies when you’re having fun, right? Yes, Mom and I are already plotting our plan of action, with some necessities on our list that must make it into our cart come check-out time… with these thoughts in mind, I wanted to put my two cents out there to help make the most out of your Day-After-Thanksgiving shopping experience… important details I assure you so pay close attention:
1. Have a Game Plan—scope out your must-shop stores and know the times for special savings, door busters, hours of operation, etc. Create a list of the top priorities on your Christmas list so that you know exactly what time you need to arrive and what department you need to head within any given store… 2. Get Your Caffeine On—for me, caffeine in the AM is as essential as consuming my breakfast. You need to be well-rested and bright eyed and bushy tailed on Black Friday to ensure you get all the goodies you’re seeking out there… Mom and I will be starting our day at the local Starbucks
3. Leave the Babies at Home—To all you mommies, I LOVE all those sweet babies, but please leave your little bundles of joy at home during this craziness. There is no need for the tiny humans to be toted around in and out of the cold and those strollers--I know they are easy, yet for shoppers they are a literal roadblock. I think Daddy should watch the babies while he lounges on the couch all day…father/daughter and/or son time is VERY important and they’ll be glad you didn’t try bribing them to shop with you ;)

4. Dress Comfortably—I’ve been there and done it before. Wearing an oh-so-cute shopping outfit, yet, by the end of the day, I had to buy new shoes because of the blisters I gave myself due to walking miles and miles without stopping in the name of fashion. Won’t do it again I assure you… I’ll be dressed for comfort, that way I can wrestle around with crazy people to take that $50 jacket home to the fiancé
5. Have Fun—Black Friday officially kicks off the holiday shopping season. Sure, there are decorations already up at the mall and we’re already receiving emails/gift cards/coupons to use the day of, but remember, we’re all in it to have fun—no name calling/badgering/meanness necessary… there is enough for everyone I tell you!!
Check out this website for all the chain stores' featured Black Friday sales...featuring Best Buy, Target, Kohls, Toys R Us, and tons of others--essential I tell you!!

  2. I have never done the whole Black Friday thing, but I am DYING to this year. The only problem is that my mom and sister are EXTREMELY anti-getting up early! I'm still working on them! =)

  5. I rarely make it to the sale.

My husbands family has a tradition of going out to cut down our own trees he day after thanksgiving. This will be the first year we cut down our own for our place.

But I do hit the day after Christmas sales. Last year I made out great at Crate & Barrel and bought a ton of Xmas stuff for a steal!

  16. Me and my mama are also planning our annual excursion - got the email alerts for ads being posted and everything and I've been told every day for the last week that I'll have to wake up before daylight on Thanksgiving Day so I can get to the store and snag a paper before they're gone! Funny enough, I did one of my bulletin boards for my floor on Black Friday tips - and pretty much all of these are on it. :)

  18. I think the key to Black Friday is to go with friends/family who you can have a GREAT time with. I know each year, I spend more time laughing with the people I am with, than stressing over finding exactly what I am looking for. Ha!

    Good Luck This Year!
