Wedding Wednesday… I Now Pronounce You Mr. and Mrs. Grunke

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Today, I am dedicating my weekly wedding post to my best friend and bride-to-be, Meg. Last night, she left Nashville to head to Knoxville (her hometown) to finalize all the preparations for her wedding weekend extravaganza… words cannot describe the amount of anticipation and excitement I am feeling for her as she has worked so very hard on planning her wedding this past year.
With all her last minute details pretty much wrapped up, I am hoping she can sit back and relax a bit today and tomorrow and really let everything soak in… in a mere 4 days, she will be walking down the aisle and saying “I do” to her own Prince Charming, Aaron.
It’s so exciting to know that I was there from the beginning when they first met, in December 2007 at a UT/AU alumni networking event, to watching them begin dating and then be “exclusive” to running over and screaming with her when he popped the question last August, and of course being her second set of eyes along the way with all her wedding preparation.
This past year has been a whirlwind and it’s been so much fun to cheer her on from the sidelines, making sure she had the perfect outfit for each of her showers, planning her destination bachelorette party, helping her narrow down ideas for her flowers/décor/cake/etc, trying on bridesmaid dresses, and of course being there when she found THE dress… going in for her final fitting a few weeks ago, her Mom and I both were overcome with emotion when she put her ensemble on, for she truly looked like the most beautiful bride and I know she can’t wait for Aaron to see her signature wedding day look—it’s AMAZING I assure you and lots of pictures will follow when I return!
Meg, I know you may or may not see this until you return from the weekend AND your incredible honeymoon in Mexico, but just know from the bottom of my heart I love you more than words could ever say and I am honored to stand next to you this weekend as you become Mrs. Grunke… this weekend is all about you and Aaron and it will be a truly remarkable and emotional moment for everyone to witness as two become one {and yes, much more sappiness is to come this weekend, I am certain of it!}—Happy Almost Wedding Weekend... Its going to be PERFECT and I love you the most!!
